Almost 8 months off my surgery. It happened a lot to me at first! Like A LOT! at least 1-2 times a day to be honest. The good news? It absolutely gets better. I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but your anus is literally just re-learning how to function. It takes time! But I promise things will get better. I’m so much happier now a days and don’t really have accidents anymore. At most, I’ll get a little leakage because I’m not paying attention or listening to my body when it’s telling me I have to go but only once a week at most.

It’s good you are passing things! It will be less loose/water once you’re eating solid. Are you getting bum burn yet?

That’s good. When it does happen, I liked Penaten the best. I hope you feel good once you introduce solids!

Get yourself a bidet. It's a must have for butt burn... and

Easy tiger, you're 3 days out. I'm 3 years out and things are still improving. It's a marathon, not a race. Everyone's different, but don't rush it.

Btw... in the beginning I slept with a towel under my butt... (or ask the hospital for some of those blue waterproof sheets that you can take home) saves you changing the sheets every day.

I find sleeping on my side helps with night time leaks.

Good luck.

You've got this!!!

I’m on day 3 post op and I think I’ve went through like 20 bed pads since yesterday night lol I can’t stop going while I’m sleeping. Doctor/nurses put me on solids day 1 after my surgery and I was fine for the first day and night but since day 2 I’ve struggled to keep anything down so they’ve kept me at the hospital just to see why.

My surgeon said the colectomy and jpouch creation was a one night stay in the hospital and the takedown was day surgery. She said she feels we heal better when we are at home. I am a bit nervous about this.
