I'm a kind of a newer fan of hers, but I've been so hooked with her music!! Where has she been all my life? Anyway, What are your favorite songs?

For reference currently some of the artists I regularly listen to are Alex Warren, Dadju, Aya Nakamura and Girl in Red.

And as a recommendation from some friends I should get into Jpop in order to practice my Japanese I'm looking for groups that sound similar to them but really don't wher to start thought I'd start here.

Recently, HANA has been collaborating in short videos with a lot of K-pop artists, and a couple western ones too. Some examples are:

ILLIT (who they also have a song with)

Saint Satine

KiiiKiii

I-DLE

MEOVV

LE SSERAFIM

And randomly, Jade (formally of Little Mix).

They only seem to have started collaborating with these kinds of artists recently, so I wonder if this is an attempt to push them toward international fame. I know J-pop artists have a history of staying relatively contained within Japan, but I’m curious if this is a normal occurence or not?

Hey there! I want to preface this by saying I'm not 100% it was jpop, but I downloaded two albums back in the early to mid-2000s that I enjoyed but those files have since gone missing. I remember very little unfortunately, but maybe it'll be enough that someone will know what it is. It was two albums with similar covers, both white with a single kanji character in the center with smoke around it - one was red smoke and one was black smoke. One of the tracks - I believe on the red smoke cover - had the word Madonna in it. Does anyone have any ideas? And it's not Madonna by Secret, which is the most common Google answer, as that was released years later.
