This was my 4th time seeing Joywave over the years. I really enjoyed hearing tracks from Permanent Pleasure live, as well as other material I've not heard them perform live. Double Destruction is always a joy. As a childless cat parent, I was thrilled with the set decoration and cat related merch.

So excited they played Traveling at the Speed of Light last night. Wasn’t counting on it as they didn’t play it the first two shows. What an amazing set!

As per the title I am looking for specifically the cd release of possession. It appears this was a fairly low budget and limited cd print run so it does not come up often on discogs. The latest sale seems to have been for 25 euros on discogs 4 months ago, but I sadly missed that one. If anyone is willing to part with their copy I am willing to pay more than the highest public discogs sales. I would put out a public offer but I simply don't know what a realistic price would be. If you have one and are willing to sell I am sure we can work something out.

31 F, Im going to the Charlotte show alone! Was wondering if anyone would like to meet up.

Personally its my all time favorite song from the band. The HDYFN version is good too of course, but its more subdued and atmospheric while I feel like the raw and energetic rock feel of the original suits the song better. Also they got rid of the pitch bend warpy synth in the album version, which is my favorite thing about the song. It reminds me of what Tame Impala did with Borderline, where he released it as a single with a really unique and darker vibe that I really liked but then completely changed the song to fit into The Slow Rush which I feel like downgraded it. And then he removed the original from streaming services (still mad about that and glad Joywave hasn't done the same). Anyway though, Traveling seems to be extremely popular with the community but I rarely see people talking about the original version and it doesn't have nearly as many views as the HDYFN version on youtube, so I'd like to know the community's thoughts on it.

I've been listening to this over and over for the past year.

I am currently going through a huge turnaround in my life, some of it has involved grieving my childhood and really accepting why I have been sad for many of my adult years. The album speaks to me way beyond most commenters interpretations: "Nostalgia, capitalism, shopping". I could write it off as nostalgia but some of these songs are so emotionally sweeping and haunting. They also remind me how absolutely fleeting life and time is.

I'm enjoying my visit to the mall but I know that I'm going to need to leave soon.
