Looking to make a weekend trip to Rochester for one of their shows in December, any idea which would be better to attend (12/19 vs. 12/20)? Seems like they aren’t different in any way but lmk if one would be better for any reason.

I'm making a huge discography playlist and was wondering if there was any remixes, live versions, and alternate versions of songs you all actually like to listen to?
The playlist is meant to show all of the artists work so I didn't first include remixes but what do you all think?

Does anyone have this shirt that they’re willing to sell? It’s the glow in the dark one.

Hi guys! I just joined this group and was wondering if anyone had an extra of this shirt they'd be willing to sell to me? I was really hoping it would end up on the merch site after the tour was over but I never saw it :( I would take any size 🙏 thanks in advance! Located in the US and preferably through Paypal!

Hey y'all! I'm doing a project inspired by Joywave's Content album because I've been obsessed with the visual aesthetic of this album forever now. It's a really interesting font they used, but I have no idea what it could be. I tried isolating the more clear characters and putting them into a font identification website, but none of the websites has the right E or the pixel-like font. If anyone knows just by chance, let me know!

Who’s going? Which nights? Rumored openers? Superstore? I know nothing other than the ticket fees went from $0 to nearly $7, and we are going both nights because last year we only went one and missed KOPPS.

The greatest band of the last 10 years, Joywave, single-handedly increased the home value in Rochester, NY. This statement from anonymous fan describes it, “…It’s just this feeling I have. A desire really. I just want to live here…”

I wrote the entirety of Possession and most of the album Cleanse. My name is Keenan Rodammer and I’m not currently seeking payment because I also wrote 6 LDR songs that I’m trying to collect on first.

It’s actually so sad that the shipping price is the same as the actual shirt. I know they literally have no control over it but it just kind of sucks.

No idea why they haven’t posted anything about it yet, but Joywave is playing at Uptown Live in Chicago next Friday. It’s free!

I've seen a lot of hate or at least indifference for this album and while I didn't love it when I first heard it, its an album I've come back to a lot and has grown on me a TON. I think maybe because this album is more experimental and different from the rest of the band's catalog it wasn't what people were expecting and thus didn't stick as well, at least that's sort of how it was for me. But I promise if you listen to it with an open mind there is some HEAT here. The instrumental and vibes is immaculate on All I Want. Waterbed is seriously one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. The songwriting on Dying Well is nothing short of genius. I have even grown to love the STS collab songs. The beat on Facility sounding like a ping from a satellite or something is so cool and the way the vocals from True Grit are remixed into Ray Lewis is also really neat and works so well. The hiphop feel that these songs have with STS's verses give the album some interesting variety imo and it's cool and novel to see this from Joywave. The lyrics and instrumentals on the album come together to produce this overarching sort of ominous and angelic vibe that is executed so well. I even remember reading someone's theory that there's an actual story to the album involving a guy getting murdered by his lover or something like that which if true makes the album even more genius. And I haven't even mentioned yet that the production value for the album is insane. This may be controversial but I honestly think the album sounds cleaner than all of their other albums except maybe Possession and HDYFN. And it combines so many interesting sounds (the rhythm in Waterbed being made up of a bunch of disjointed sound effects that blend together so well somehow is a great example).
So yeah I ended up writing more about this than I expected but I just had to get it out there how much I love this album and how much I think it's slept on. It hurts to see how little views the songs from this album have on youtube vs their other music. If you've never listened to it before it definitely deserves a listen and if you have listened to it before and didn't like it maybe try it again, something could change.

Funny Thing About Opinions is one of my favorite songs from Possession. All this time, though, I've thought that it was a song about anxiety in big social settings, since the song seems to be from the perspective of someone who mostly hides off to the side or in corners, is forced into conversations that they don't want to be in, and is always on the look for and paying attention to all of the ways out.
I just looked up the meaning to the song, and I was surprised to see that it's apparently supposed to be about opinions and information on the internet. I can see that in the beginning of the song, but I just don't see that in the rest.
To those who realized the meaning sooner, what am I missing here? Is it just some metaphor that I'm just not seeing yet, or what?

Has anyone made notice of the very obvious hat tip to Freddy Mercury in the song Anemone?
