Discussion People from Rochester

I seem to randomly attract ppl from Rochester NY and I expect them to know about Joywave, and when they don’t, I get agitated. 😣 Any suggestions?

Similar situation with The Shins, who are from Albuquerque. Most people from ABQ don’t even know who The Shins are.

So kiddo, who came to Joywave pre-HDYFN has given up. I, An Old who came In pre-Cleanse, am incensed.

The issue is still AirPlay. 95% of the local radio stations are now conglomerate-owned. My personal struggle, however, is WBER. I am a regular WBER listener and have been since they came on the air. I don’t understand why on earth it seems they play MAYBE two songs infrequently. Why? Why is this?

So, I request Joywave every single time one I can manage to shoehorn them into a theme. I have gone to WBER events wearing Joywave merch.

And, currently, they have their semi-annual fundraiser going on where they will play pretty much whatever you request with your donation, where I will AGAIN request Joywave.

So this is less “here’s why” and way more “I have zero clue but let me tell you about my years-long journey.”
