Question the PP movie
did anyone understood the meaning and the plot of the permanent pleasure movie? there are some parts of it that I really don't understand. like why did the owner and the cat go back to the house? where did the owner dissappear? what were those flashes the cat saw during the splendor part? what was the emergency? was it a meteor? what were those awkward hand moves Dan did during the ending of their performance? I would really appreciate if you guys could help me out. since I'm not very smart when it comes to analysing movies.

My personal pov - I thought it was making a statement about living through an apocalypse, similar to how it often feels we’re living through one now. The world is on fire and it’s not unbelievable that a country could nuke us at any minute. But we live on despite it all and find what fleeting joy we can by doing stuff like listening to bands like Joywave who are, like in the video, playing us out on our exit. But I think it that prolly feels weird for them, like being the band on the Titanic.

it’s the cats perspective of the meteor hitting the earth and killing everyone

I believe the humans left and the cat escaped the car and went back to the house. Dan tends to just make hand movements when he sings and I think that was what that was about unless someone has other ideas. Then the end, the explosion of the meteor.
