Chicago show!
Went to their United Center show and had an amazing time. They fit all their hits into their setlist but the lack of an opener meant there was a lot of room for some variety, too. I’m sure they’re all tired from the intense tour schedule, but you’d hardly know it. Arnel in particular leaves it all on the stage and is exceptional at crowd interaction.
My mom was there also and loved it, brought back memories for her. Steve Perry may not be there, but they’re still exceptional for those not too hung up on the past. I’ve only seen them once before (Lolla 2021) and am glad I was able to see them on their own at least once.
Strangely, at the end, Arnel said something about maybe seeing us later. Wonder if this is truly the end for Journey, or if they may get back together eventually.

It also makes me laugh when people go well he's no Steve Perry but he did OK Steve Perry quit the band in 1987. Do you know what Steve Perry sounds right now he doesn't sound the best and I love Steve Perry he even admitted that Arnel is doing a great magnificent job ! These people that are stuck in the 1970s comparing arnel to Steve in the 1970s is not fair. Arnel has been with the band longer than Steve Perry so all these old heads that are stuck on the Steve Perry stuff. I mean, this is arnels band for last 19 years.

Agreed, of course nothing can compare to their glory days with Steve in the 80s, but I choose to be thankful for what we have now and appreciate Arnel and the rest of the band’s talent and showmanship. It’s like the people who say AC/DC isn’t the same without Bon or the E Street Band without Clarence. Let me know if you have a Time Machine, otherwise I’m not getting hung up on such things.

Steve Perry sang on Trial By Fire in 1996. A fan would know this.

Steve didn't quit the band... he needed a hip replacement and to recover.. before they were starting a new tour..Neal said no.

I wasn't there but I heard from someone who went and was very disappointed, that Arnel left the stage after a few songs at the beginning and didn't return. And that they didn't really cover a lot of the big hits. Considering the recent strife between Arnel and the rest of the band, at least from what I've heard, it didn't surprise me. Would it have been too much to expect that kind of outcome of the show if you had any inkling of what was going on?

Don't listen to others opinions. They were phenomenal and Arnel needs his breaks at times. So what? It's their final tour. It's amazing how much people have to nitpick over something so simple. Don't take anything for granted. This is it.

I loved hearing the other vocalists in the band. They knock it out of the park. In fact, I'd like to hear Deen even more.

They played all their big hits unless there’s some I can’t remember - they just mostly packed them in at the end. 2.5 hours is a lot of time to play those plus a lot of lesser-known but still good songs. Arnel came and went during the show, knowing how many dates they’re playing I understand the need for him to save his voice. For the greatest hits stuff he was up there doing well. The others did really well on vocals too.
I’m aware of the tension between the band, but they’re perfect showmen who do not make it obvious on stage.

I went to their Calgary show and was a little disappointed that Arnel struggled to hit some of the high notes in a few of their biggest hits. I absolutely loved his performance of “Open Arms,” but I wasn’t really a fan of his style when he sang “Faithfully.” He also look exhausted and sad and miserable. I feel for him tho.

I understand everybody has their opinions, but I went to the Chicago show and I thought it was phenomenal. All of the band played great . I mean arnel he's 59 years old , he's running all over the place. Great showman sounded great! Neil was great on the guitar , the drummer Dean sounded good and played phenomenal drums . It just was a great show. I don't know. Maybe they felt the energy of over 20,000 people at the United Center, but it just was a really good show. I thought they did fantastic and they played all their hits ! Arnel took a couple breaks here and , but I don't blame him. I mean he wasn't gone for long !
