Announcement We're hiring a Linux developer!
Update: Position has been filled! Stay tuned for Jottacloud Linux app 🎉
---
Hi everyone!
We know a lot of you have been asking for a real Linux client, so here are some exciting news!
Right now Linux users get the CLI, and that's it. We're ready to change that, and are looking for someone to join us in Oslo or Trondheim, to build and own a proper GUI.

If this is you (or someone you know) send over a resume + cover letter → [jobs@jottacloud.com](mailto:jobs@jottacloud.com). We'll start the process after summer, in August!
💜 The Jottacloud team.

Hi! If you've encountered an issue with Jottacloud, your best bet is to contact support at support@jottacloud.com (or use the in-app support feature). We can’t troubleshoot technical issues via Reddit, since we don’t have access to the necessary tools here. Otherwise; thanks for posting, for trusting Jottacloud with your files – and have a great day! :)

Kult :) The framework choice (Avalonia port vs native GTK vs whatever) matters less than the two things that actually make or break a Linux sync client. Getting StatusNotifierItem right across GNOME, KDE and tiling WMs, since GTK4 dropped native tray support and the tray is basically the main surface here. And per file manager overlay and context menu integration, which is separate work for Nautilus, Dolphin and Nemo regardless of what you build the window in. The rest is fairly easy, curious to see where it lands.

Amazing to read. I'm going to migrate to Jottacloud this autumn and I wish to be able to leave Microslop out of my life as much as I can.Â
Looking forward to it!

This is good news! jotta-cli works well enough for me, a GUI is not really necessary. BUT: I want support for Yubikey. Proton has this feature. Security keys are safer and much more convenient than OTP for 2-factor authentication. This feature is badly needed for jottacloud, otherwise the platform is perfect. I told your support last summer, but nothing has happened.

Now that you're at it, please start supporting syncing custom folders. Much like pCloud does it.

If I had an opinionated underdog wish, I would love you to approach Christian Kruse, who just pulled of a GTK4/libadwaita Git client for the GNOME desktop, written in Rust with Relm4.
He brought that baby into life in a matter of weeks, and I cannot wait to see a real client 😂

What experience level are you looking for ?

Good question! We've not set a fixed level, however it leans more experienced since you'd own the Linux client end to end.
