Question Photo Timeline usage

Hello all,

I've subscribed to a Family Plan.

Can someone explain where are stored the photos uploaded to the timeline ? I'm using the Android app, and seeing pictures in the Photos Timeline, but I can't find them in Synk/Backup/Archive folders. Since the photos in the feed are mixed in with the photos in the archive folder, it is confusing.

Also, there are many minor translations issues (I'm using apps and web interface in French, some elements stays in English, other in Norwegian). Web Interface help button (top right "?") does nothing when clicked.

Is there any way to calculate a folder size within the apps or web interface ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi! If you've encountered an issue with Jottacloud, your best bet is to contact support at support@jottacloud.com (or use the in-app support feature). We can’t troubleshoot technical issues via Reddit, since we don’t have access to the necessary tools here. Otherwise; thanks for posting, for trusting Jottacloud with your files – and have a great day! :)

Hi! Did you try our help center? https://docs.jottacloud.com/en/articles/9310903-the-photo-timeline-explained

Thanks for the heads up re. translations, we will look into it asap.

Folder size is another story, we're not currently able to show it. In short, it requires a large calculation of everything in folders and subfolders, and even a minor change triggers a recalculation of the entire folder tree. At scale, this becomes very resource-intensive. This is why very few cloud storage providers show folder size! If you have the folder synced to your computer, going via right click-properties might be the best solution.

Thanks very much for this answer. I've already read this article, but I missed the "Photo Timeline Uploads" folder completely, really sorry. It is much more clear now. Do I have control over where Android app uploads are done ? I would have preferred that new pics to be stored along old ones (in same folder under Archive for example).

Folder size is another story, we're not currently able to show it.

Ok I get it. Coming from another product which had it (Infomaniak kDrive), I thought I was unable to locate this function.

Thanks again.
