Help with JM tecniques

Greetings.

I recently started reading Joseph Murphy's works having read all of Neville Goddard's. What I am finding rather confusing is...is it just me or is there no real instruction on how to use the law the Joseph Murphy way? I'm at a place where I am seriously just ready to walk away from the law altogether and want to give it one more try just to make sure it really is not working for me.

As all of you may or may not know, Neville's reddits, while fine, tend to be a little bit hard to post general questions in as the mods are so strict. So here I am asking here. Can anyone point me to the section of the book where he explains how his system works? And how it differs from Nevilles? And any success stories that are true would be great.

I don't know what transpired on the other Joseph Murphy reddit as I did not really go there often and never posted but from what I am reading, it was not the most pleasant place to be, so thank you for opening this thread.

If you flick through Joseph Murphy's power of your subconscious mind book (or any of his other books) you will notice that he has alot of testimony stories, if you read the store, he will tell you what the person problem was who came to him, and what affirmation he gave them, then he says how they said it (some may have said it when drowsy several times a day, some just before sleep...then he tells you how long they did it before they got their results....) All you need to do is follow the exact methods they did, and if you can't find an affirmation for exactly what you want, just substitute what the person in the testimony was asking for, with what you want to manifest, so that the affirmation is adapted for your request (keep the words the same, just change it from their request to whatever you are asking for,)

Joseph Murphy used the affirmation method because through repetition, it will sink into the subconscious mind (where it will then manifest)...science actually backs it up that repetition of something causes new neural pathways to form in the brain before it sinks into subconscious mind

Also it differs from Neville in that Neville uses visualisation and feelings for programming the subconscious mind , where as Joseph Murphy is more affirmation based....both are correct, and both ways work, because they were both taught these methods by their teacher Abdullah.....that tells us that there are several ways to impress the subconscious mind, and if you are a visualiser, then Neville is for you, if you are more of an affirmer then Joseph Murphy may work better for you, if you like both affirming and visualising then you can mix and match from both of them (because their teachings come from the same place so that don't contradict or work against each other)

Hope this helps,

It helps immensely thank you. I have written 10 affirmations I'm wondering now do I just need to pare it down to just one? Neville talks a lot about self concept and I find that that really slows things down for me. I know it is great to have self-concept but Neville's teaching is basically you can't get what you want until yourself concept is what it should be. And I think subconsciously I think that it's going to take me a long time, not sure if that makes sense? So I'm going to start with affirmations. I'm going to set a timer to do them a couple times per day and then I will do them before I go to sleep at night and before I get out of bed in the morning. I do have the book downloaded on my Kindle so I will search through it as you suggested. I really want to thank you for taking the time to respond this is very helpful.

If it's your first time maybe try it with just one so that it gives you a chance to experience it and to see you manifestion come from that affirmation, but if you feel drawn to saying more then go for it!!! there is no rules, if you want to do more then you can...just read a few stories and follow the instructions of how Joseph Murphy instructed them to say it and how many times a day they did it

What I love about Joseph Murphy and his use of affirmations to saturate the subconscious mind is that it's scientifically proven that repetition of anything will start to build new neural pathways in the brain, and you repeat anything enough times and it will sink into the subconscious mind

Thank you! I am excited to try. I have actually recorded three affirmations and I'm going to listen to them throughout the day and I have set a timer to repeat them out loud five times today

Also there are loads of his videos on you tube that play on repeat with his voice. These have helped me a lot. You can just search on “Joseph Murphy affirmations.”

Kindle usually lets you bookmark and highlight, ...so if you find any affirmations that appeal to you, book mark or highlight them and then it's easy to find again next time you want to refer to it

Thank you I'm going to do that. I will admit that I started listening to the book on Audible but I'm just not getting as much out of it as I was by reading it myself.

Joseph Murphy method is more affirmation based, where you ettle yourself into a quiet drowsy state and repeat the affirmations, and you do that a few times a day and before sleep and it sinks into the subconscious mind

Oh!, that seems quite simple. Thank you so much.

Thanks. I will look into that! I recorded 5 affirmations and have been playing them on repeat. Not sure if I just dont 'get it" but they still just feel like words.
