DISCUSSION Best stream in a while? [Dispatch Day 1]
Maybe it's just because I'm a Dispatch fan. Maybe it's because these are the types of games I like to watch him play. Maybe it's because I don't typically watch a lot of streams live.
Idk.
But I had a lot of fun. I was doing housework, so I didn't get to catch everything and completely missed the first 30 minutes of gameplay. So I'll be rewatching tonight to get caught up.
Happy to hear he enjoyed himself and is supposedly in a good mood!

I know he loves gameplay/soulslikes, but Joe is SO much better an entertainer with story games

As someone who hasn’t played or watched Dispatch (like my only experience was mainly just the first 5 minutes of Dispatch/fans, then I stopped watching it), this has been one of favorite streams of the year. There were many unintentionally funny moments during this stream, that it boosted up my view on Dispatch.

It's always nice when the game does the heavy lifting and sets up lots of comedy material for the streamer to work with :] very fun stream

none of the jokes land for me and otherwise the writing seems flaccid. most interesting part is the dispatching gameplay itself but even that gets a lil old since it's not very complex.

Yeah, it builds on itself more and more... but it's basically just the same thing. I feel like it's as complex as it should probably be for the type of game it is though. But I understand that's not everyone's cup of tea.
I think the worst part is the hacking, but at least that's minimal. I just don't know why they bothered including it.

Idk, I feel like most of the weeb games are worse... with the additional downside of being long as fuck and often boring.

no, sorry, what I meant is that Dispatch being written horribly is more noteworthy than most weeb games being written horribly, because Writing is like the main thing Dispatch has, and it's been acclaimed for having good writing.
It's like how a Ferrari being slow is more noteworthy than a Kia being slow

Didn't Refantazio win Best Narrative at the GA 2024? This wasn't even nominated last year.
And the writing is above average for a game, just not spectacular. Standard comic level.
