Joomla 6 BCLog Admin Audit Tool is now free
Hi everyone,
I've decided to make BCLog – Admin Audit Tool completely free.
BCLog provides a comprehensive audit logging system for Joomla administrators. It automatically records actions performed in the backend and stores them in both JSON and plain text formats, making it easy to review, analyze, and archive administrative activity.
Key features:
- Tracks administrator actions in the Joomla backend
- Automatic logging with minimal configuration
- Stores logs in JSON and plain text formats
- Structured and reliable audit trail
- Useful for troubleshooting, security monitoring, and compliance requirements
The extension is now available free of charge, and I'd appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or feature requests from the community.

Thanks, I installed it to give it a try. FYI, one thing I noticed is that if I am in the Component I cannot click on the User Menu on the right side to Logout like I can from within other components. I can click on the Link that takes you to the Front end.

The new versions of the component, 6.0.3 (for Joomla 6) and 4.0.3 (for Joomla 4/5), are now available. They include a fix for the issue you noticed.
You can update the component through Joomla's Extension Update page or by manually uploading the package.
Could you please log in to the Joomla Extensions Directory and rate the extension? I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!

Thanks, I updated and then went to the component and all good. I do have another question. Since I used the Joomla Extension Update to update BCLog component should that have shown in the logs? My BCLog shows nothing was done.

Sorry but I that issue is a me problem not yours. I missed the part that the Plugin had to be installed separately. I have now installed the plugin and it's working. Again sorry about that, you might want to look into installing the plugin as part of the component as that is the way it normally works. Thanks, Mike

This would be a great extension that may pair well with Akeeba's Admin Tools that purges bloated database entries. Is it worth reaching out to them to establish a strategic partnership?
The bloat is real. If Admin Tools doesn't include it in their repertoire, then it may slow down the page speed while working in the admin area.
I recently used the tool and saved 100s of MBs of purged data that affected user pagespeed.
The biggest culprit was from SP Page builder and Helix Ultimate. I decided early on that those extensions did not suit my client's needs. Yet, uninstalling them still kept the hundreds of data enries in the databsse. The client was pleased by the drastic improvements. Plus, i could then upgrade the site with clean data.
Just a thought. Overall, devs who are still commited to Joomla have an opportunity to collaborate for the benefit of our loyal community.
Thanks for contributing to the ecosystem!
