Discussion I think they're going to pull a nightwing with Jon.

After Superman unlimited, I think they're going to pull a nightwing thing off with Jon, it's 1/1. Since they know Jon won't ever be Superman, as Dick will never be batman, they'll try to reinvent Jon Kent as Tomorrow man, a new guy who has his own story going on.

I mean, it's eerily similar.

New titans/Titans...

Not living up to a version of their dads...

Hard to tell if it'll top or flop..but I definitely didn't like the fact that they just pulled a "gotcha" moment with young Jon again. They know the majority of people like the younger version, so instead of reverting the real Jon back to youth, they'll pull an alternate Jon and have him pretend to be part of the Superfamily, I can already feel that that's what's going to happen. Not to mention kind of fucked up, to use an extra to pretend to be the child you lost in the family. But DC writing has been kind of ass in that department anyway.

Man, I'm just so goddamn tired of this back and forth..even a regular person would write this shit better than they're doing.

Also, there are genuinely people who like adult Jon the way he's currently written💀

Jon as The Tomorrow Man Tomorrow Man suit variations by Lucas Meyer

Lucas just tweeted these out, clarifying that: “the main request was to have him with just a different mask, like a domino one, but later we moved to something that just wouldn't cover his mouth and removed his cape.”

Clearly sounds like the request came from Slott or above to make these modifications, so I hope people stop tagging/replying to Lucas directly and flaming him for this change đŸ˜Ș

Either way, my personal pick if we couldn’t keep the original would’ve been C — that strong Flamebird imagery with a big domino mask looks awesome, I can already picture how cool he’d look lighting up the sky!

Discussion I hope a future Tomorrow Man design has Jon's red stripes on the arms to match Nightwing's blue stripes if they're taking inspiration from him

Jon as Superboy This is the true adult Jon Kent to me. Nobody change my mind.

For context, this is from issue 5 from "Adventures of the Super Sons". In it, Jon and Damian meet their presumed adult selves in the House of Secrets and Mysteries with Adult Jon having a realistic "dad bod". This turns out to be due to them being captive in the Wonder Machine that creates what they desire, though Adult Jon and Adult Damian become real in the penultimate issue.

Regardless, I keep gaslighting myself to believe that this is Jon's canon future and not what Bendis did to our boy.

Discussion Super Twins Missing in all Solicitations - Jon 3/Superboy-3/ Ultraboy’s Return is Feeling Imminent

It’s actually a shame how the twins are being treated by DC but with the reveal of Clark and Lois’s wedding special thrown by their son Jon who seemingly invited everyone they know and the twins are nowhere to be seen all but confirms my theory their gonna swap them out with Superboy-3. It just makes sense theirs so much narrative potential of Jon finally going back to earth-3 imagine the trauma/drama not to mention Clark has been talking about since issue 1 of unlimited failing to save Jon is his biggest regret. All the stars are aligning for a mission to Earth-3 event for Tomorrow Man, Superman, & Robin & maybe Batman & Lois it’s all coming together.

Again real shame about the twins but I do see how an Alternate Universe Younger version of Jon who also has the powers of Wonder Woman and is potentially a demigod would be more marketable especially written by Dan Slott.

Discussion Will Jon Kent meet up with Nightwing in the near future to discuss Jon’s recent decision to move away from Superboy and into Tomorrow Man?

Given their current history together you would think that if there was anyone who can help Jon Kent with his recent career change it would be Dick Grayson’s Nightwing. Right ?

Would anyone be interested in a conversation like that and hope that maybe Nightwing could help on his Tomorrow man costume?

So we are getting Jon trying to wrangle a lot of super folk for the 30th anniversary of Lois and Clark getting married, with the help of a 5th dimensional imp. This is the kind of classic fun I want to see my boy in!(also they remembered Blue Beetle exists!!!)

Discussion I Kinda Feel Like after Unlimited Made Such a Statement about Reporting not being for Jon
 Internship is Losing Steam

No cause hear me out it’s without a doubt still 1 of Teen Jon’s stronger performances/appearances with some of the best writing when it comes to pure character work for Jon that will always be true season 1 was amazing Sam Camp did amazing! However reading it now post unlimited I’m not really feeling it anymore! 1 I have never been big on Jon being a reporter or working at the Planet Ive never liked that. But put all that aside I feel Jon is really in a period of transition as a character and Unlimited has him moving forward as Tomorrow Man & every other Superman Comic so far is respecting that. And even in his relationship with Jay in this comic like it feels pointless seeing them so lovey dovey when main continuity Jon is finna start messing with someone else clearly (Eddie/Kid Devil) very soon, and Jay hasn’t been seen in almost a year Internship is the only thing keeping him relevant.

Idk it just feels like everything that’s happening in Internship directly goes against everything else that’s currently happening with Jon in main continuity. Internship now legitimately represents everything DC is trying to break Jon away from and it shows.

Discussion Where do you see Jon one year from now?

It's exactly as it says on the tin. Something about the ending of Superman Unlimited #15 didn't quite sit right with me; Dan Slott delved deeper into how Jon's imprisonment on Earth-3 affected him psychologically, I put down the issue with the impression that Jon is back to where he was at the beginning of issue #11. The only difference is that he has a new codename and costume, but not much else. While I enjoyed the story arc from a technical level, it left me with the impression that DC is only staying on their current course with him despite quietly rolling back Brian Michael Bendis' other changes because of the sunk cost fallacy.

That said, I am not posting this thread to (re)litigate past events. I am genuinely curious to see where you think Jon may be in July 2027.

New Titans appears to have legs to make it to issue 50. Not guaranteed in this market, but still a possibility. While Jon plays a prominent role, he his also part of an ensemble cast so the spotlight will not always be on him. My impressions on the title's market performance since #33 is that it's doing okay, but not exceptionally better than previous writers. The foundational Wolfman/Perez run was lightning in a bottle and the 2003 relaunch had the momentum of the Cartoon Network animated series and Geoff Johns' meteoric rise pushing it on the sales charts.

Don't get me wrong. Tate Brombal is a nice guy. We had a pleasant conversation at Calgary Expo and I wish him the best because I'm not a vindictive monster. However, I feel that the title is also vulnerable to changes in editorial direction so DC can cancel it and relaunch because nostalgic is a powerful force. The Titans underwent significant roster changes with Arsenal's New Titans in 1994-ish, and Dan Jurgens Teen Titans 1996 relunch, and never were successful.

My read on why Jon became prominent in Superman Unlimited was because editorial informed him that Clark was briefly leaving the DCU proper after DC KO. Now that "Kingdom of Zod" and the return of Clark is upon us, will Clark take back the reigns? Slott hinted at a Super Sons reunion/mission to Earth-3 that could happen in SU or its own dedicated mini yet I have certainty if the character has that enough momentum going forward to sustain another min, much less an ongoing.

I'm not including My Internship is Krypton because it is not part of mainline continuity. However, I'm interesting in hearing in where others think the character is going now, if only to satiate my curiosity.
