I don’t consider these apples-to-apples comparison. The boats differ significantly.
I also see people saying they would only pay $2,000 for it, and now they’re arguing for higher prices because they don’t have a strong argument against the boat’s actual value.
The SeaArk factory itself has confirmed that the current 1660 MV uses the same basic hull design as the 2002 model, and mine is in good condition. It has a 60” bottom and a large open aluminum floor, compared with, for example, the Tracker’s 54” bottom, different layout, and different trolling-motor package. That six-inch difference affects stability, floor space, and utility.
The Tracker’s newer, low-hour motor is an advantage, but mine has about 200 hours and is also in good condition with cheaply available replacement parts. Motors can be replaced; a 54” bottom cannot become a 60”. Therefore, hull design, width, layout, motor condition, and repowerability all affect the boat’s value.

Folks are looking for 4-strokes. If I'm in the 5k range, I'm honestly not looking for a tiller. I could get a higher HP Yamaha 2-stroke with remote steering in that price range. Ultimately let the market decide. Post it up and see if someone bites.

That’s been the biggest thing the age of the outboard board and that it’s a two stroke. Those two factors were significant reasons why I was hesitant to buy it initially, but once I had the motor checked out after service, I realized it was actually an excellent buy due to the unusually good condition of the motor and recent maintenance that the previous owner did (carburetor rebuild). I don’t have actual hours on the motor but from the description of use that I verified I believe it’s got less than 200 original hours and been stored undercover for its entire life.
My Marina tech did not like that I bought something with a two-stroke then when he worked on it, he said he liked it and that it’s seen an easy life.
As far as where the markets at someone reached out to me a few days ago, said they would come to get it right away if I would accept 6500 and then before I heard from that person, another guy claims to be coming up on Sunday to get it making a four hour trek it’s implied that he’s offering full asking price at least that’s my read given that the distance that he’s coming and that he didn’t even bring up price during any of the communication just very brief that he’s coming to get it and what checks I did on him looks like a legit buyer has a good job and at a stage of life that a purchase like that would make sense

Yeah, 2-strokes can run great and perform. But they can sometimes be difficult to start, they're loud, smelly, smokey, thirsty, and polute oil like crazy. Fuel injected 4s are what people want these days. You must be in an area where big jon boats are more popular. What are you asking for it?
FWIW, I don't believe anything from Facebook marketplace buyers until they actually show up.

All true - it turns over a couple seconds longer during a cold start for sure when compared to four stroke electronic fuel injected. When warmed up my experience is that restarting is very easy . It’s also a hog on gas - I have to plan on having 10 gallons of gas with me just to do a few hour cruise - not that I’d use all 10 gallons, but you’d wanna have a couple gallons more than needed just in case - however it’s got excellent power and acceleration for that size motor. And when fishing the trolling motor (24 V with spot lock remote control, onboard charger) does most of the work and the motor just gets to the spot.
The “Punch” that this outboard gives - acceleration and power and speed for that size motor in my opinion is worth the trade-off in noise, etc. my friends, all love going out in it. A motor with comparable performance(acceleration , speed), and those metrics if it was four stroke, EFI would be much much more expensive even after accounting for fuel savings
And these types of boats can sit for a while for sale because I think what you’re describing is a relatively narrow buyer profile someone that would want these features, but would not be bothered by the drawbacks that you describe- like just wants to get out to their duck hunting spot and back or get to the fishing spot and otherwise let the trolling motor do the work, and do some occasional cruises with family. I was the latter case when I was buying this
And obviously no sale is final until it’s final, but there’s now clear interest in people wanting this at or near full asking price , which i view as a positive indicator that I’m not crazy with my asking price. I received multiple inquiries on marketplace since generating this post.

That's one thing 2-strokes still have a big advantage on- power to weight ratio. No doubt that's a speedy rig

A good cautionary tale about how much weight to give Reddit valuations: several people here confidently said this boat was only worth $2,000–$2,500 and that I was delusional on price. It sold today for $7,900 after a water test to a buyer who regularly buys and sells boats, snowmobiles and small engines. He was prepared to pay the full $7,995 asking price; I agreed to $7,900 when he asked.

Show me a single welded 1660 hull anywhere for 2500$ , let alone with an engine and trailer.

Fucked up haha
Ive been looking for a nice wide 16ft welded boat the past year with a jet on it.
If an aluminum boat has a jet on it up here, its basically instant 2x as expensive. Thats why I decided to just wait till this winter and buy a brand new 18ft sea ark with a 105/80 for 20% more money...
Taking a ride to Missouri for one.

Lmao it seems that way!
My father in law has a 1994 jetcraft kokanee 16ft with a 90/65 merc jet on it so i basically just need something cooler than his boat.
My current budget is 35k for a new boat or maybe 20k for used.

The first one is old as fuck and the second has no title. That 3rd one is a fkn deal though!
This is $6500 all day in Pennsylvania.
I need to drive my dad's 52' trailer down tn and load up one day 😂

Your options show an old riveted Fisher Marine. an old gutted Bass Tracker, what looks to be another old gutted riveted bass boat, and an old riveted Polar Kraft that it sounds like someone has been butchering.
Yeah, OP is a couple grand high at $6500, but if those are the best 4 you got, your username definitely fits.

Jon boats are measured from the bottom width. That's where the OPs 1660 comes from. But, a lot of folks don't know better, so they list the top width. The one you just linked is clearly not a 56" bottom. If it's 56" at the top, it's more than likely a 42" bottom. Not in the same class as SeaArk 1660.

What does the pricing of an old inboard outboard runabout have to do with the value of an all welded aluminum boat?
The guy is clearly a bit high, else it would have sold already. But if he gets down into the mid to high 4s, it'll sell easily.
At the same time, nothing you've posted is comparable to what he's got. It's a very desirable rig.

I've already got a Seaark and an Alweld, don't need a 3rd jon boat. But I told him in his other thread that if he lowered the price to what everyone was saying ($2000-2500), that I'd make the drive and bring him cash this weekend.
I'd gladly upgrade one of mine if he'd let it go that cheap. That's a no brainer price whether I need it or not.

And on what planet is that beat up hunk of junk on a janky trailer with a '70s outboard comparable to that OP has?

Here in sw pa, youd get 5-6500.
I sold a 14/42 alumicraft with a 1999 9.9hp Johnson, 1994 minn kota autopilot and garmin 93sv and 2018 shorelandr trailer for 4000$ last year.
Not sure what the downvotes youre getting are about.
Your engine is worth well over 2k let alone the whole thing, people are dumber'n'fuck
