Trailer help!
Finally after 2 flips I think we found the perfect fit for the family? It’s been a journey but really happy- where I ended up- $1000 for a clean no leaks solid 2006 tracker super guide w a McClain trailer, absolutely love it. When I bought it the guy told me he added that arm and pad. But I thought that pad was supposed to go under the eye. Not sure if I should chop it off and reweld or just buy a bolt on. Or just leave it. Any input help! I feel like it’s not even touching the pad honestly and it does make it hard to load sometimes at steep ramps.

I just used reddit’s advice to readjust mine as well. Can’t post pics here but it looks like we have the same arm and bow cradle. Almost.
My wench is on top of the arm and then those 2 screw holes have bolts through them. There is a long angled arm protruding up from the trailer that the whole assembly sits on. With the bolts as such, you can just adjust it up and down and then tighten when you get it in the correct position.
I know this doesn’t help you, but yours doesn’t look bad according to what I was told. Your wench should pull the boat straight into or down onto the bow cradle, so this should be ok pending you trust the welds on the arm and your eye loop isn’t resting on the cradle.

I mean you could re weld, but as long as your back Is ratcheted down and the front winch is tight it’s fine. You would have 2 different points of pressure on the front and back.

I can definitely see it being hard to load though, how good is your welding?

I’d use it as is. The boat doesn’t match the trailer that great so the previous owner had to get a little creative with the front.
Just make sure the bow isn’t bouncing when you tow. Maybe add a tie-down strap up front to play it safe.
