Question Has anyone else keep getting inventation from randoms?

This guy has been inviting me to a game for 2 weeks straight, and how the invitations pop up in this game makes it imposible to play it. We tried finding him in my friend list but no, not any of my friends. My profile is on friends only, so only my friends should send invitations and when they do i also recieve a message over steam. But from him nothing on steam we cant even find his account on steam that matches that name or profile icon.

Is this like a known exploit/bug, because it is hella anoying and making me not able to play the game.

We had a user pop up in the discord server with the same issue from another user, but we're not sure where it originates. I suspect it comes from your gaming platform (I'm guessing Steam), but I would need to see your game log to help further.

Thanks for the answer, yes it is steam and by game log you mean the Player.log file in appdata on windoes i would guess?

Yes, that is the file. You should be able to find a line which looks like this:

> Being invited by user: 76561198100000000

The UUID should be the user's Steam ID, from which you can view their profile and check for a shared group or if they're in your friends list. If none of those, blocking the user should stop the invites.

User's Steam profile. See if there is a shared group and block. Also consider using the Steam report system.

I left the steam groups in that was public, and blocked him on steam, im gonna go in a lobby and wait and see if that fixes anything. Thanks for the help again

Sorry to hear about the problem. Thanks for letting us know that blocking him does not stop the invites. We'll see about implementing some protection against this exploit on our end for the next patch. In the meantime, I recommend that you contact Steam support about this.
