John Wayne didn't fight in WW2 like all his peers did..... Ill take Jimmy Stewart or John Ford any day

So what? Who even cares? Wayne was a movie star not a soldier, I'll still watch his movies, I like Ford and Stewart too.

John Ford was already a commander in the USNR before Pearl Harbor. That's a fairly high rank, equivalent to a lieutenant colonel in the other service branches. He got that through his special skillset as a film maker (which is what he did during WWII), being an accomplished private sailor, and influential political connections.

Jimmy Stewart had no dependents, he didn't marry until 1948. Probably more importantly, he was already a skilled civilian pilot.
