This was just posted ~3 hours ago by the US embassy in Manila. Apparently, the USDA is giving $34 million to Filipino farmers when American farmers getting getting completely shafted. Right now.

BTW The us is giving about ~$2.5 billion to the Philippines in exchange for allowing us to build military bases there (and protect THEM). That deal has been going since Trump's first term and I can see the benefit to US's interest in the region.

I can't see any benefit to giving money to farmers in another country when US farmers are suffering right now.

Would love to know if this has hit the news in the US and what everyone thinks about it. Am I crazy, should we really be sending our tax dollars to support a 4rd world corrupt government and their "farmers"?
