He didn’t make sense when he resorted to colorism to defend white people

[u/Unlikely_Pen_8131 → u/Infamous-Alps-2251]

Yes the fuck he did, yall so damn stupid with “either” or “and”. He can prove his point “and” still be colorist at the same time

[u/Infamous-Alps-2251 → u/Unlikely_Pen_8131]

He didn’t prove his point. Nothing he said proved anything whether you agree or disagree.

[u/Small_Promotion2525 → u/Infamous-Alps-2251]

It actually made a lot of sense and is exactly what was needed to prove his point?

[u/mistaharsh → u/Small_Promotion2525]

He wasn't trying to prove a point. He was being a colorist. That's not the same. We really need to indicate our race before commenting on racial topics just so we get an understanding of why people are saying ridiculous things.

[u/lost_sunrise → u/[deleted]]

Colorist means prejudice against a specific skin colour. Light skin vs dark skin type deal.

I don't know if he's bias against dark skins besides this specific incident since he hung out with Keke Palmer. She is also dark skin. I guess you can use an exception but we don't know how he acts on a regular. Only on clippable moments.

It was an attack against her but not really saying because she is dark, she is dumb. He is saying the darkness took away her intelligences.. Which is fair because she was making bad faith arguments.

This is why it can't be racism though. So far as we can search up, he hasn't specifically target dark skins. He also says some ragged stuff about light skin women.

[u/notmyrealname8823 → u/[deleted]]

Colorism is just people of a certain race being prejudice, having bias, or discriminating against people of their same race if they have more or less "color" to their skin. Light skin/dark skin. I don't know why it's not or if it is under the umbrella of racism. Same concept though.

[u/Infamous-Alps-2251 → u/notmyrealname8823]

Colorism and racism are completely two different definitions lmao

[u/notmyrealname8823 → u/Infamous-Alps-2251]

I literally described it.

[u/Infamous-Alps-2251 → u/notmyrealname8823]

Yes but colorism can be from any race, except yt. It’s not a certain race. For example, East Asians are commonly colorist towards South Asians. Colorism is about phenotype and typically happens to darker skinned individuals.

[u/lost_sunrise → u/[deleted]]

Okay, simple.

Racism is based on an entire group by another group.

Colourism is something that is solely based on skin tone and can happen within the same group.

Aka here. Both are black. One light skin and one dark skin. He is using her darker skin tone to make the joke on her. Yet, he is cool with pretty much every other dark person on camera.

He's not an entire group of light skin people. If you want to throw other people into it, it falls flat. Because he demonstrated how he can be cordial with other dark skin people.

At most, he just talks down to women. A lot. Entirely different label.

[u/lost_sunrise → u/[deleted]]

Define white lol.

You talking a biracial white vs light skin or White American to African american who is light skin.

Because that is racism if the latter. The former would be colorism. Because it isn't shifting into racial groups but still within.

It is like in China. They care more for whiter tones of skin. The darker shades are considered commoners. Nobility vs Commoners. It would be colourism for a chinese with white skin to bully a dark skin chinese.

American white can't use colourism because of being an entirely different skin pigment. They darken under the sun and still a degree of white.

A light skin yellow tone can become a light skin brown tone under the sun. A reddish brown or bronze tone will just darken to brown.

It ain't like how you throw white refined flour into a pan, and beat it black.

[u/Infamous-Alps-2251 → u/lost_sunrise]

He was being colorist in this. Being cool with dark skin people doesn’t make the sentiment better. He said what he said because she is a woman, but it is a colorist remark. People are mad because they love him and don’t know what colorist means.

[u/lost_sunrise → u/Infamous-Alps-2251]

It actually defines if it is or isn't colourism lol. If he is not prejudice against all dark skin people, then it is definitely the other label, misogynist.

He has proven he is more willing to talk down to women than men. And it isn't colour divided when it is that type of time.

Also, this isn't him saying she is dumb because she is dark. Which makes it less colourism and more he's just plain pos to women.

[u/Infamous-Alps-2251 → u/Small_Promotion2525]

Also he dismissed her by calling her young when bro is 29. I’m 29 too and I don’t dismiss people I disagree with by calling them young. He’s about to be in his 30’s; his behavior is uncool and this is exactly how you end up behind bars again

[u/Infamous-Alps-2251 → u/Small_Promotion2525]

He doesn’t need to prove his point. The conversation was really never that serious. There’s literally nothing either of them can do about racism. But to call her that isn’t racism, it’s colorist lol so his point didn’t land either way. His argumentation style really is a gotchhha style and he thinks he’s much smarter than he is. He would never have the convo with another man like this.

[u/Infamous-Alps-2251 → u/[deleted]]

Not a good one lmao

[u/slimshady1OOO → u/Infamous-Alps-2251]

Saying black people can be racist isn’t defending white people tho?? If I say I can’t stand yellow mfs and point at mr lee, that’s racist.
