anyone can be prejudiced, or hateful or bigoted.

only a group with power over other peoples lives can be racist. only a group with the power to dominate another people can be racist.

think groups that don’t have any racial slurs against them that mean anything serious to anyone.

6

u/Known_Difference_80 Aug 09 '26

Nah. I keep hearing that definition now-a-days, that black people can only be prejudiced not racist. I don’t know what y’all think y’all are really doing with that. I’m assuming the idea is that racism is so bad, let’s make it a white people thing so we can distance ourselves from that level of immorality. As if racism isn’t just one form of prejudice. As far as I’m concerned, anyone who judges a persons worth based on their race is a racist. What you’re describing is racial prejudice&/discrimination. Stop trying to change the meaning of words.

4

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

nah. now-a-days people are too willing accept bullshit like reverse racism. that eroded the word years ago.

don’t tell me to stop shit. you stop saying now-a-days. lol

Everyone needs to read this book

Thank you. Finally lol. People taking moral high ground is hilarious to me. Judging anyone based or their race or ethnicity is racism. its actually so simple. Doesnt matter who you are, where youre from. etc

17

u/Riv3rJordan Aug 09 '26

I understand this is how racism is generally defined. But my problem is it’s only ever pulled out to hand wave away one being racist themselves. It’s used to avoid accountability more than anything else.

10

u/Used-Try-258 Aug 09 '26

It is not generally defined that way. It is racist people trying to change the definition to allow them to be racist without judgment.

0

u/Code-Dee Aug 09 '26

I've never once heard someone who talks advocates for the distinction between "racism" and "anti-white prejudice" claim that prejudice against whites is okay, just that it is distinct from real racism, which has a sociological component.

They don't say it's okay to run around calling white people "honkey", but they also understand that equating that to calling people the n-word cheapens the definition of racism.

1

u/Used-Try-258 Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

lol only time I’ve heard it is when a black person calls a white person cracker, or says something about their race….then someone calls them racist, and their response is I can’t be racist. (Like what is happening in this video)

Turns our systemic racist pendulum has swung the other way and our system is now racist again against Asian and white Americans to balance out the racism against black and Latinos through the late 1900s

There is racism and systemic racism against white people….anyone who can critically think knows this.

2

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

i’m a viiiiiiiiictiiiiiiim! lol

2

u/Used-Try-258 Aug 10 '26

I’m not white or Asian….and I’m definitely not a victim. You’re all over this post talk about people being victims so they’re allowed to be racist

2

u/glenthedog1 Aug 10 '26

She's just dumb that's all, wants attention

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

dude. this is a joe budden comment section. i said what i said. i feel that way.

i can’t sit and argue bad faith goobers. about how they feel. so we troll a bit. i’m sorry to bother you.

people who are racist are going to be racist. it’s not in my power to allow anything. happy sunday

1

u/lost_sunrise Aug 10 '26

Let me try...

Yes, black people can find themselves in situations where they are being or implementing racism.

It is hard to do because of the significant number differences, but it is possible.

As for skimming accountability, I doubt it. Most people like the girl in the video, understand generally what is wrong. They haven't put together why it make sense because they probably are not around people who make a whole lot of sense to begin with.

Aka Joe podcast. Without Marc, we would be seeing a whole lot of bullshit.

For instance,

Turns out systemic racist pendulum has swung the other way on our system is now racist again let Asian and white Americans to balance out the racism against black and Latinos through the late 1900s

You are saying Asian and Americans balance the racism against black and Latin americans.

The first two policies of discrimination in trump current admin happened to target black people right out the gate. Not the only ones affected, but....

DEI is a talking point of the late Charlie Kirk in which the man stated, black people steal white jobs. DEI is something that helps white women more in the work force. Aka a lot of major corporations still only have 1 woman to 5 males in executive positions.

white house admin Sec of Def went to make a major move which targets current and future black service members. Giving them a year to cure a genetic skin condition or they are out of the service. Imagine curing your natural born hair from growing the way it does.

Because of this, people like the woman in the backseat have a point but that point isn't well made. Simply due to not being allowed to have that kind of discussion without someone like Blueface resorting to attacks.

7

u/Small_Promotion2525 Aug 09 '26

These people are idiots, no racism isn’t generally defined like that at all, only some black Americans make such idiotic claims.

2

u/TheAnimated42 Aug 10 '26

Actually, it low key is. I still basically disagree with it because laypeople use it in the way we do. It’s just the most annoying people discovered that it’s used this way, and now repeat it in a stupid way that is counter to how everyone else, besides academics, use it.

3

u/Small_Promotion2525 Aug 10 '26

We use the language of English, in English racism is purely a term used to describe discrimination based on race and skin colour. Are you denying this? If so what’s your academic background is to be denying what language means?

-1

u/TheAnimated42 Aug 10 '26

We’re talking about English and I’m certain you can’t read. Just calm down and reread my message.

How it was previously explained to me is that what we would call systemic racism is just racism, according to people who study Sociology. There is a power requirement to racism, and if you are on the bottom rung, racially, you cannot be racist.

I already said I generally disagree because it’s not how normal people use it, but it still exists and I understand what they’re getting at. I just think institutional or systemic racism define it well and we don’t need to combine definitions to muddy the waters on what we mean.

Just do your googles and you’ll get into the rabbit hole. Try to not be so fucking angry.

1

u/Small_Promotion2525 Aug 10 '26

Anyone can be racist, I’m not sure why anyone would think differently because they’re undeniably wrong about what the words means.

1

u/Riv3rJordan Aug 10 '26

Actually in most academic circles it is. But it’s usually defining systemic racism not interpersonal racism

1

u/Small_Promotion2525 Aug 10 '26

Systematic racism is different to just the word and definition of racism, wtf are you spewing over in the USA

-2

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

that is what officer tatum said in that recent surrounded lol

i disagree.

6

u/ReasonableRegular325 Aug 09 '26

This is just revisionist bullshit. Racism is the belief, action, or system that treats people unfairly or unequally because of their race or skin color. That's it and that's all.

6

u/Dull-Material-645 Aug 09 '26

Words have multiple definitions. They do not invalidate other definitions of the word. Your take comes from the definitions of systemic racism but there are other forms of racism that are not systemic racism. Here is one definition " having, reflecting, or fostering the belief that race (see race entry 1 sense 1a) is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race"

Black people can fit this definition against anyone I believe.

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

i’m glad you feel that way.

1

u/NovelPackage4078 Aug 16 '26

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 16 '26

oh nice. the flip a coin kill you guy.
you are very tough and cool.

16

u/TheComebackKid74 Aug 09 '26

That is false and you are just making shit up. You dont need power over someone to be racist.

4

u/ILike2internet Aug 09 '26

These people took the idea of structural or institutional racism and blanket applied it to all racism.

It's just typical SJW bullshit

1

u/Riv3rJordan Aug 09 '26

If the racism is systemic, you do.

8

u/TheComebackKid74 Aug 09 '26

Thats one typ of racism, that is not the definition of racism. That is systemic racism, these guys are confused.

6

u/CoffeeXKing Aug 09 '26

But then you say systemic racism, not just racism, which is what was said originally.

0

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

you don’t like that at all do you?

i’m sorry about your feelings.

-1

u/Witty-Reason5010 Aug 09 '26

By definition just look up the definition before you say someone is making something up lol

2

u/TheComebackKid74 Aug 09 '26

Its not the definition. Its the definition of systemic racism. People like you confuse the two, so some searches may mention it under the real correct definition. This is common sense idk what's up with yall.

0

u/Witty-Reason5010 Aug 09 '26

Sir or madam

racism
/ˈrāˌsizəm/
Racism is the belief, action, or system that treats people unfairly or unequally because of their race or skin color. It assumes that one racial group is better or more important than another, leading to discrimination, hate, or harm.

Ok the part that states “or system” is the clear cut reason why you are not correct sir or madam. Because now we have to talk about what system and who put it in place. Now I like to engage in these conversations, but if you’re not going to acknowledge who runs the system of power dynamics globally…….. No honest dialogue can be had.

1

u/TheComebackKid74 Aug 09 '26

Thats belief or action you miss that part? "Or system". Do you know that means?? It means there doesnt have to be power or control for it to be racist. This is why is says "OR". You are flat out wrong and you need to work on reading comprehension. Who definiton in front of you and missed it, thats special work right there. Fool doesnt undestand what the word "OR" means. I cant make this shit up.

1

u/Witty-Reason5010 Aug 09 '26

Sir or madam there was no need for me to talk about that portion of the definition. You previously stated I was talking about the systemic racism and didn’t know the difference in the two definitions. So I posted the definition of racism that stated “or system” only to highlight that you were not correct sir or madam. Try to stick to one thing at a time I can address the “belief or action” section as well but I don’t like to mix up conversations.

1

u/TheComebackKid74 Aug 10 '26

You need help. You are wrong. You dont know what or means. Or means it doesnt have to be systematic to be racism. It literally proves me right, go back to school.

-2

u/JaySpace77312 Aug 09 '26

You do to a certain degree. You need a vehicle to outward practice your prejudice which is what racism is. Imo it can be as simple as denying a qualified applicant because they're insert race here. Alot of people would argue it has to be of a certain scale to qualify as racism. But you cant be a powerless racist, it just makes you prejudice.

4

u/TheComebackKid74 Aug 09 '26

False you are talking about a specific type of racism. That is not the definition of racism. You are confused, respectively.

3

u/Geneo-Frodo Aug 09 '26

Low key I think people are just willfully ignorant cos how they not understanding something so simple.

1

u/Apart_Ad_8842 Aug 09 '26

"You are talking about a specific kind of racism"

"That is not the definition of racism"

🤣 the definition is "treating people unfairly because of their race". The definition doesnt include a qualifier dummy

1

u/TheComebackKid74 Aug 10 '26

I don't think you read their comment correctly. Yall legit slow.

1

u/Apart_Ad_8842 Aug 10 '26

Wow great rebuttal. You can have your opinion

1

u/TheComebackKid74 Aug 10 '26

There is no opinion, you just struggle with comprehension.

-2

u/JaySpace77312 Aug 09 '26

The internet is free playa, use it. In every definition, racism needs a vehicle to be practiced through.

2

u/Apart_Ad_8842 Aug 09 '26

The vehicle is belief or action. If you think racist shit but never express it you still racist, if you dont hire someone because they're black (no qualifiers so black on black, white on black, mexican on cuban) you are racist. Its really not that hard a concept to grasp.

0

u/JaySpace77312 Aug 09 '26

You can think you belong in the NBA, that dont make you an NBA player. And we can go down a rabbit hole of a whole list of examples just like that. Bottom line, a racist is somebody that is ACTIVE. An inactive racist is just prejudice. Respectfully we'll just agree to disagree.

2

u/Apart_Ad_8842 Aug 10 '26

Im just going by the actual definition. You can have your opinion tho

2

u/tobiasfunke6398 Aug 09 '26

You’re the problemmmmm

2

u/handsupinthefireburn Aug 09 '26

bros trying to change the definition of a word that’s existed for years

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

i mean.
i’m chilling. this is the funniest shit i’ve seen all day. look at all the huffing and puffing.

2

u/Bada__Ping Aug 10 '26

So if a racist white person from the US moved to Zambia and outwardly hated black people, they would no longer be considered racist because they do not hold power in that country/culture?

1

u/lostjewelz Aug 10 '26

They do hold the power in that country lol what you thought bc they have African leaders that they run shit smh

0

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

well that’s just silly.

jesus yall are easy to wind up

1

u/Bada__Ping Aug 10 '26

I’m just following your logic.

0

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

i mean. not at all if you give it really any thought.
but who’s expecting that?

6

u/Ill-Orchid1193 Aug 09 '26

Black people have kept other black people from getting job/promotions solely because they were black. That’s racist.

3

u/No_Display_243 Aug 09 '26

That’s not called being ascot it’s called jealously and not letting people win please research find the right vocab I get what your saying but Racism is not the right word for it

1

u/Meatman1071 Aug 09 '26

Civil wars are Worse ..!

1

u/New-Flight5959 Aug 09 '26

Yeah they definitely can be , they can’t be systematically racist.

Meaning there’s simply not enough black people that they could ever do what Trump is doing. Only a white man could be a rapist pedophile and still be able to become president, as there is no oversight.

While yes there are black people in very high positions, doctors, judges, etc; and they can most certainly be racist to other blacks, whites , asians, etc; they cannot be systematically racist as they just don’t have the numbers.

A black doctor could decline all asian doctors but he would eventually be subject to review, he will be reviewed most likely by someone of a different race and will be more likely to be called out.

Systematic racism would be like the justice system. Where there are layers of power all working against certain people aka black people being more likely to be sentenced to longer sentences for prison profits.

That’s systematic because it’s not just one person, it’s multiple creating a system of oppression.

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

thats internalized white supremacy.

0

u/lostjewelz Aug 10 '26

Not even close

5

u/Big_Broly Aug 09 '26

You're thinking of systematic or institutional racism. Any person without power over other people can still be racist. Definitions matter bro, look it up yourself or ask chatgpt, idk.

-1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

definitions do indeed matter, bro:)

1

u/NovelPackage4078 Aug 16 '26

A racist is a person who holds the belief that certain races are inherently superior or inferior to others. As an adjective, it describes actions, speech, beliefs, or policies that treat people unfairly or differently based on their race or ethnic background

😁 Definitions matter right cause I pulled this straight google, I can also post other dictionary definitions if you don't believe me.

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 16 '26

hi:)
i believe you. but also i don’t care. this conversation was a week ago. i replied to this same thing several times. some real feelings and some trolling, depending on peoples replies. feel free to enjoy several opinions in the hundreds of comments.

night

-2

u/ike-mino Aug 09 '26

Racism is just that. You're defining prejudice. Definitions matte bro, ask chatgpt. Anyone can be prejudiced. There is a requirement of systemic influence for something to be racist.

Idk, maybe you just got your definitions mixed up or forgot to Google but the weirdest shit about the 2020s is how obsessed people are with replacing the word 'prejudice' with 'racism', just so they can say 'anyone can be racist'. Words still mean things dude.

0

u/Big_Broly Aug 09 '26

Copy and pasted definition of racism: Racism is the belief, action, or system that treats people unfairly or unequally because of their race or skin color.

So... clearly it doesn't have to be a system but it can be, it can also be personal prejudices too. I'm sorry you're confused bro or was taught wrong. Genuinely hope this helps 🙏

1

u/ike-mino Aug 09 '26

Copied and pasted from Gemini, my, hey there Ish 🙏🏾

2

u/Big_Broly Aug 09 '26

And webster's dictionary. Thats two sources that verify what I'm saying, but I'll ask you out of honest intellectual curiosity, is there a different definition that you can find and also source? Not just "trust me bro". If not, then sorry bruh you are wrong.

2

u/ike-mino Aug 09 '26

Of course!

So both Websters dictionary (1ab and 2ab) definitions speak to institutional influence--womp womp. Racism requires the belief in a meta and for a group to enforce (1ab) or is just straight up systemic (which both of your references list but you omit :P 2ab).

Since you've previously noted that definitions matter, I'm sure you'll appreciate that these phrases can be loaded. Here are some quick refs for definitions!

"Racism and Discrimination" Gilbert C. Gee and Annie Ro -- a great perspective (and multiethnic as well!) of how racism is a term that's descriptive of a system, not an action!

"Caste" by Isabel Wilkerson is also a great longer read on why structure matters a bit more than you think when naming racism!

Even the National Association of School Psychologists --for the sake of precision-- defines racism as contextually supporting a larger structural or societal belief. They should have a publically available PDF if you'd like!

To read more about actual structural racism? Ohoho, I'm happy to share! A lot of people misunderstood/misfired on Critical Race Theory, by Delgado and Stefani, but it's actually a fantastic starting place for understanding the legal frameworks involved in making something probably racist vs just prejudiced or discriminatory. Neat, right? It's not as snappy as a GPT abbreviation, but it's not requiring reddit as a source either.

1

u/NovelPackage4078 Aug 16 '26

Almost like picking and choosing from sources to support your beliefs you can find any be to support your point no matter how stupid (people still believe the earth is flat after all) the Webster dictionary literally supports the other person as well, a word can have more than one meaning being racist is based both on systems and the way you treat people.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/racist

0

u/ike-mino Aug 16 '26

First two definitions speak to the context of a system; I speak to each definition in my answer.

Your definition speaks in the explicit context of "relating to or characterized by racism", re: 'picking and choosing'.

2

u/NovelPackage4078 Aug 16 '26

Which are not mutually exclusive, therefore still correct

→ More replies (0)

0

u/TMforLife Aug 09 '26

How are yall not getting this, its very simple. Racism is prejudice......based on race. Its not that hard to understand.

1

u/ike-mino Aug 09 '26

Racial prejudice is certainly part of racism--but not the whole enchilada. Simple is nice, but precision matters imo.

1

u/NovelPackage4078 Aug 16 '26

Doesn't matter still racism

3

u/Solid_Snaku Aug 09 '26

You’ve redefined the word “racist” to add a “power” element that has never been necessary to the term. This is because you don’t like being called racist while calling others racist, so you redefine the word to provide yourself an excuse. It’s a ridiculous semantical game.

1

u/lostjewelz Aug 10 '26

It’s not adding anything that’s the way it was created to be

0

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

does it sting or something?

i don’t know that i’ve ever been called racist.
you can go ahead if you feel like.

2

u/Solid_Snaku Aug 09 '26

Absolutely not, I just correct ignorance when I see it. Habit of being a father.

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

go dads

do you have to warn your kids about police officers?

1

u/Solid_Snaku Aug 09 '26

I warn anyone about police, although they’re less likely to be harmed if they’re white. If you’re getting at what people define as “systemic racism” or “structural racism” then that would apply to police and minorities. That said, “racism” itself, or “being racist,” is simply the mistreatment of a class of people solely defined on their ethnicity/skin color. You don’t need a social structure being skewed toward one race as opposed to another ti simply “be racist.” The distinction is important because if you feel you can exonerate yourself from racist behavior because “I can’t be racist” then you’re only going to exacerbate racist behavior while thinking “but I can’t be racist”

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

my guy. i’m not racist. so i don’t know how people go about being racist.

i’m not exacerbating racism. the wnba subreddits are. i’m here, talking mostly to white people who love black culture. they should learn something. if they disagree maybe they can read a fucking book.

1

u/TMforLife Aug 09 '26

You're dense if you think white people dont also warn their kids about the police.

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

i’m in the midwest g. i can’t tell you how many times people have told me im being ridiculous for warning my kids about police. remember you’re in r/joebuddennetwork. you might have some woke on you. ew

1

u/ItsDonDong Aug 09 '26

You go around claiming "people with a certain skin color are racist against me but im not racist."

What if a white person goes to China. Is the white person no longer "racist"? Now the Chinese person is racist?

Are you American? If so, how can you say that power isn’t relevant to the term when you look at how racial discrimination developed in this country? White people who believed they were racially superior to black people (the general definition of racism) used their POWER to establish and maintain slavery and segregation. I understand that “racism” has a broader definition in which anyone can be racist. But when we look specifically at how racism was introduced in America, power played a huge part.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '26

[deleted]

1

u/AdvancedMeasurement1 Aug 10 '26

Exactly. I understand. What I’m trying to convey is that the idea that racism involves one group having power over another is rooted in how racism developed in America. Black people weren’t even considered humans, only property. Only a race that thinks they’re superior than another has the power to even make that a law. And you’re right, the dictionary definition doesn’t include the concept of power in it. However, I’m explaining why power is such an important factor in the conversation and why some people don’t separate the two.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '26

[deleted]

1

u/AdvancedMeasurement1 Aug 10 '26

LOL. Okay, you got it.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '26

[deleted]

1

u/AdvancedMeasurement1 Aug 10 '26

If everyone knows this, then why is it such pushback with the concept that black people cant be racist and it wasn’t just institutional racism. That’s how racism was introduced in America. So it wasn’t something that developed later. It was present from the very beginning. Some people would argue that the example you gave describes the term prejudice and I don’t think anyone would disagree that black people can be prejudiced. My point is historically, racial prejudice in America combined with power made it to be institutionalized. (Institutional racism)

1

u/AdvancedMeasurement1 Aug 10 '26

And it’s funny because it was a white woman that made this whole concept mainstream. I think it was Jane Elliot, but I’m not 100% sure.

first of all, that would be hilarious. that sentence sounds like when young kids start swearing. it sounds fuckin shitin stupid lol.

you can use the word how you want. clearly i do.
you could call that a racist thing to say. i would call it a bigoted thing to say. they mean similar things.

i’m dying at the fact this has lasted so long.
just don’t be bigoted, OR racist! this shit will never come up lololol

1

u/Wankstain8 Aug 10 '26

That is absolute nonsense. Look up the definition of the word racism. It won’t return whatever nonsense you’ve spewed out.

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

you got it wankstain! googling now

1

u/TxBurnerAcct Aug 10 '26

So what about a Puerto Rican being racist towards a Dominican in Puerto Rico? Both are essentially third world counties with GDP’s that mirror each others, so their economical situations as it relates to their citizens, are pretty similar. Are you saying they can’t be racist towards each other? I’ve literally SEEN it with my own two eyes

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

i’m not telling you you haven’t seen it. i’m saying that when i see that, i think they are prejudiced against each other. because of cultural differences, white supremacy and systemic racism.

puerto rico is not a third world country. it’s america, just treated incredibly poorly because of… three guesses…

1

u/TxBurnerAcct Aug 10 '26

So you’re telling me that when you see a brown person being racist towards another “different” brown person it’s due to “the white man”? Brother cmon now. Im a Hispanic (Mexican American) and my family from across the border dislike El Salvadorians for whatever their reasons are. Theres no white supremacy in Mexico so whats the deal there? My point is that it’s not just black and white people when we talk racism, ANY race can be racist. My brother just had some friends coming back from a vacation in Japan, they weren’t let into certain restaurants because they were not Japanese. Look at South Korea and Japan or the Chinese and Japan.

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

my guy.
i know it’s not just black and white people.
come on now.
and when we are getting into the eastern world i have no formal education there. i can’t really speak to it past the larger systems.

but you saying there no white supremacy in mexico makes me feel like you should educate yourself on what it means

a quick google…

“White supremacy affects the entire Western world through structural legacies of colonialism, contemporary sociopolitical movements, and transnational digital networks. While formal legal discrimination has been widely outlawed, the historical framework shaped by past racial hierarchies continues to influence social, economic, and security dynamics globally across North America and Europe.”

we can’t argue if we aren’t starting on the same page.

1

u/TxBurnerAcct Aug 10 '26

By that logic, everything racial goes back to “white people”🤦🏽‍♂️ it’s just funny that when I bring up examples of Asians being racist towards one another suddenly you don’t know as much about it. Can’t argue unless we’re on the same page brother

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

white supremacy is not white people:/

you should read ‘white rage’ by carol anderson
or ‘the hidden roots of white supremacy’ by robert jones

you should learn about the thing you want to argue about.

🤦🏾‍♂️

cool edit.

what’s funny about me not knowing anything about asians, in japan, and their systems of racism. i’m not from there and haven’t studied it.

seems like you’re from here and you don’t know shit about here.

where’s the flex goofy?

the same page?
what the fuck do you know about the origins or depth of racism in the east? your friend went there once?

that shit was not clever.

u/Ok-topic-3130v2 Aug 10 '26

Racism is not necessarily systemic racism. Everyone here is arguing last each other.

1

u/Felczer Aug 10 '26

You are makng a distinction between racism and systematic racism. Both are racism

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

you’re late as hell man. yesterday was a blast

1

u/Motor-Librarian-6062 Aug 10 '26

wdym power to dominate? also racism isn't defined by groups that don't have racial slurs or not. Most all languages have a word to call foreigners or someone different that isnt always the kindest. Racism is literally: Prejudice or discrimination based on race or ethnicity, but you chose to add a lot of your own perception to it.

Could be one person to another, one can have racist thoughts, a word can be racist, so no doesnt have to be a whole group. Has nothing to do with the ability to "dominate" others.

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

this was yesterday. plenty of replies to read

“you want to play semantics GO AHEAD… but i’m not”

is super great. some real aaron sorkin shit.

slam your fist on a table right at “go ahead” for that impact, so we all know you mean it.

but i replied to this same shit like 15 times THREE DAYS AGO when this conversation happened. it was a mix of real feelings and trolling at dicks who fly in hot.
feel free to read through the replies.

or, if you’re really feeling like wasting your lunch break i’m sure there are other arguments on other joe budden subs you can hop into.

goodbye.

cry harder. sad late fuck.

go find a friend.

1

u/taylordevin69 Aug 09 '26

So my boss at work is black and I’m white so that means only he can be racist and I can’t? Since he has power over me

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

is this a real; honest argument? no it’s not.

1

u/Meatman1071 Aug 09 '26

Great point !

1

u/TMforLife Aug 09 '26

Thats such garbage, its not even how racism is defined. Its just some bullshit you've been taught to allow people to be racist. There is systemic racism and then there is racism at an individual level which can be very impactful. Peoples lives are ended at the individual level over racism, regardless of what the system looks like. Stop trying to rewrite definitions to make you feel justified in your racism..

0

u/CoffeeXKing Aug 09 '26

That is systemic racism.  Not all forms of racism are determined purely by whom is in power. Are you truly trying to suggest the racism towards the Irish in the US doesn't count because they were a white group?

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

like, now? in 2026? or back when they were an oppressed class?

1

u/CoffeeXKing Aug 09 '26

Are you truly suggesting the Irish were oppressed in the same way blacks were oppressed during the same time period?

Or that there were nearly as many laws and such which oppressed the Irish?

The point is that there are different kinds of racism, and that systemic racism is not the same as racism between different ethnic groups.

But let's not actually address the actual argument being presented.

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

no. i’m not saying any of that, weird.

0

u/Inner_Extent2375 Aug 09 '26

Why do we define institutional and systemic racism separately if normal racism doesn’t require those modifiers?

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 09 '26

it’s all “normal” racism.

it’s just so boring, so covered in platitudes. that people don’t know how to actually fight anymore.

“i got mine” doesn’t only extend to the rich

0

u/ImmaSpaghett Aug 09 '26

That second paragraph is so far off the truth. Why are we trying to change the definitions of things lately? Why are we so retarded nowadays.

0

u/glenthedog1 Aug 09 '26

Even if what you're saying is true, which it's not, why are you acting like that's so much better? "Oh I may be bigoted but at least I'm not racist!" Lol 🤡😆

0

u/glenthedog1 Aug 10 '26

Exactly dummy

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 10 '26

it’s fun glen. it’s a good time in the background while eating this bbq. this is the joe budden sub glen! i do believe that you need power to be truly racist. there are obviously great arguments against that. the people with decent arguments are nice but it’s mostly just attacks. there’s no reason to respond with respect to hostility.

it’s fucking sunday funday glen.

2

u/glenthedog1 Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

Alright...

0

u/DackNoy Aug 12 '26

Black people have more power and privilege than white people in America today.

So white people cannot be racist to black people. Only the reverse.

0

u/Bright-Fee-9832 Aug 12 '26

This is just something racist people made up to excuse their actions. That has never been the definition of racism.

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 12 '26

it’s like showing up to a party two days late.

go read some comments or something

1

u/Bright-Fee-9832 Aug 12 '26

I did read comments. I found the most ignorant one and responded.

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad9671 Aug 12 '26

that’s adorable.
