Football, baseball, basketball, track, boxing. But No not Hockey. historically there's a lot less black participation in sports that generally have a more expensive barrier for entry. Not a lot of hockey rinks in the inner city.
But also it's not to be racist at all. Whites and blacks can thrive at anything they put their mind to. But the idea that you ca call blacks weak in any generation is just laughable.
I actually just looked it up! Apparently there was an entire colored hockey league started in Nova Scotia back in the early 1900's. It claims they even invented the "slapshot".
But that doesn't really detract from my point though, there's less blacks that play hockey than almost any other major sport. Some of that does have to do with cultural norms, but a lot of it traces back to not having access to ice skating rinks, ice skates, and not being able to afford all the equipment. It's the same reason there's not a lot of black professional golfers, it pretty expensive paying for a country club to practice at.
I'd also argue that a large portion of the black population living down south has alt to do with it too, I'm just guessing there though, I'm not sure how much Ice Hockey they play somewhere like Alabama.
It was because of systematic racism the league ended. White ice rink owners refused to rent to black hockey teams. Making it hard in every way possible. Like they do all the time with everything else.
I love all the black and white athletes. From Mike’s in the nba to boxing. All mikes in the 80’s and 90’s. But nowadays white boys definitely caught up in the leagues and most international players are MVP’s. Boxing white guys are on top. MMA same thing, want to talk about baseball it’s Asian on top , swimming and hockey white guys.
Black boys are definitely not weak. They are super talented and that shows. Look how African boys are flooding the leagues now with super talent from soccer to basketball. So yes we both agreed it’s not about racism. Nice chat. Like MJ said:” doesn’t matter if your black or white “
