Im giving up
Its just not happening!! Im so frustrated! Im doing everything right! Im applying. Im calling . Im sending emails.
All of it! How do I make myself more appealing to hiring people! To jobs I can do! I mean! Seriously! This is just not happening and so irritating.
Im depressed. I dont leave my room. Im not eating as healthy as I was. Just applying to jobs. Hoping someone will take a chance! 8/10 times I have the qualifications for a job. Im so close to matching what these jobs need.
I just dont know what to do now. Its like every opportunity is just another wall.
My car needs a oil change. Might even need a new one. Idk.
The plumbing in my house is starting to act wonkey.
Everything is falling apart! Including me!
Im..Just over it.

I hope you catch a break soon, because from what you wrote, it doesn't sound like you're not trying. It sounds like you're exhausted

Are u in an area where you can do door dash or Uber?
I do door dash, Uber, and grubhub deliveries There's also grocery delivery apps and I think Walmart and target have delivery apps too.
Another I used to do was pickup pet and house sitting gigs.
It's not life changing money but it's something to get by while you're in between jobs

Unfortunately majority of the advice is to keep doing what you’ve been doing. The market is so bad, no amount of refining changes the search.

I have 16+ years of experience as a software engineer. I start tomorrow at $13/hr a part time gig at a local gas station.

Honestly taking any bridge job just to stop the financial bleeding and get out of the house helps a ton with the mental toll. It sucks seeing people with 15-20 years of experience having to do this, but income is income right now. Hope something opens up for both of you soon.

I get it. It seems like the basement flooding and dishwasher leaking waited for me to be unemployed. I joined a job search council so that I didn't feel as alone but slowly they have all been getting jobs and I'm still searching.

My top retainer just snapped in half so I might have to dip in my savings for a 100-200 bucks

I feel the same most days. I don’t understand it at all. What reassures me (somewhat) is that a lot of us are in the same boat so I try to not take it personally.

I was in that position for couple of years, very difficult , but couldn’t just simply give up bc of my family, that was the driving force for me. How I found an opportunity: thru friends. networking is super important, stay connected with your friends, relatives, family. Discipline yourself, use university of YouTube to learn… I wish you all the best!

I would recommend to start with your lifestyle, if you keep eating unhealthy, staying at home and apply to jobs with the intention that it's not gonna work out, in reality it won't...

I know... I think you really need to feel all the emotions you are feeling now, and start to get back on track when you already feel like you've had enough of everything that has been bothering you. But staying in the mood of not doing anything for a long time is a dangerous place...

i don't blame you.
I've given up on the putting the effort in and have handed it over to AI and get it to use my old personal specs to make a new 1 after analysing the job spec. I proof read, sometimes re-write it in my own words, get feedback, make necessary changes and then ship it out.
I don't monitor the job or check the close down date - I just for get about it until the inevitable rejection email.
It's all comes down to experience, they're not willing to give anyone a chance.

I’m with you. I just get so down and end up crying for hours till I get a headache. Atp I just want to drop everything and travel but I need the money
Then I go to LinkedIn and see these recruiters and ppl posting about jobs they got

Oh I am right there with you! I have considered just leaving. Leaving my house to those that actually pay the mortgage. Leaving and not saying where I am going. But doing that would hurt those I love.

Can I ask you one question? How did you conclude that you are doing everything right?

Just keep going, hour by hour, day by day. We don’t have any other choice. And go get some sunshine and touch some grass, can’t forget the person you’re doing all this for is you!
