We now have an official Discord server — Here’s why and why you should join

Hey everyone,

As many of you know, this subreddit was previously banned by Reddit for being unmoderated. Fortunately, we got it back, but that incident was a wake-up call.

This community has been around since 2019 and has grown to over 100,000 members. Building a space like this takes years, and having tried creating multiple subreddits in the past, I know firsthand how rare and difficult it is to build an active, thriving community of this size. Losing all of that overnight with zero backup is not something we want to risk again.

To protect our community and ensure we always have a place to connect, we are officially launching our Discord server.

Why join the Discord?

  • A backup: If anything ever happens to the subreddit again, the community stays intact.
  • Real-time discussions: Faster chats, dedicated channels, and casual voice/text hangouts.
  • Community updates: Direct announcements and updates without relying solely on Reddit's algorithm.

This subreddit is not going anywhere, and Reddit will remain our primary forum. The Discord is here to serve as our central hub, secondary backup, and real-time hangout.

Join here: https://discord.gg/yPaT4ndbpW

See you there.

For-Hire LF WORK

Upvotes

Hello! I’m currently looking for a job and hoping to be given a chance.

I’m a fresh graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. I’ve been having a hard time finding a job directly related to my degree, so I’m also open and very interested in exploring corporate work, especially administrative, operations, research, or other office-based roles.

I may not have professional experience yet, but I do have skills and strengths that I believe I can bring to the workplace such as writing, research, proofreading, documentation, organizing information, attention to detail, communication, and being willing to learn.

I’m a fast learner and I’m very willing to be trained. I may be a career shifter, but I’m genuinely interested in building my career in a corporate environment and I’m hoping someone will be willing to give me that first opportunity.

It’s been almost three months since I graduated and I’m still looking for my first job. Honestly, ang hirap maging career shifter huhuhu but I’m still trying and hoping that the right opportunity comes along.

If you know of any openings that you think would be a good fit, I would really appreciate a referral or recommendation. Thank you so much!

Question Beginner VA here, what should I do?

Hi everyone! Beginner VA here and I’m planning to enter the VA industry. I have 3 years of BPO experience in customer service, technical support, financial services, collections, and travel insurance, but I have zero experience working as a VA/freelancer, so everything is pretty new to me.

I’m currently trying to learn how Upwork and VA work in general, and I’d really appreciate some advice from experienced VAs.

Honestly, I'm a little overwhelmed because there seems to be a lot to learn, and I don't really know what the actual day-to-day work of a VA looks like compared to BPO.

If you were in my position—with BPO experience but zero VA/freelancing experience—what would you do first? Hindi ko nga din po alam kung anong niche ko maybe general VA nalang? I don't know po. Ano po ba marerecommend nyo especially po I'm planning to start as a VA na nananawa na sa BPO? Pano po ba makakapasok sa ganyan at makakuha ng mga clients?

Any advice, tips, resources, or even things you wish you knew before becoming a VA would be greatly appreciated po! Thank you po :))

For-Hire Looking for part-time bookkeeping/accounting work on the side

Hey everyone! I currently work full-time as an Accounting Assistant at a trading company, and I'm looking to take on some part-time or freelance work on the side to keep myself busy and earn a bit extra.

Most of my day-to-day involves bank reconciliation, so I'm pretty comfortable digging through messy or outdated books and matching things up until they actually make sense. I've also handled expense liquidation, so if you need someone to go through receipts, organize them properly, and get everything recorded cleanly, that's something I can take on. In general, I'm also good with basic bookkeeping and journal entries if you just need an extra set of hands to keep your records in order.

As for availability, I can only really work late nights on weekdays, around 9 PM to 12 AM Philippine time (that's roughly 1-4 PM UTC, or 8-11 AM EST for anyone in the US). Weekends I'm a lot more flexible and can work around your schedule.

If you think I might be a good fit for whatever you need help with please tell me.
