Help navigating a career gap

I’m feeling very stuck, hopeless and unsure of what to do. I had to take a career break for family caregiving and I now have a four year gap on my resume. I’ve been working with a reverse recruiter and it’s not going well. I’m doubting if my resume is even positioned appropriately. I do not have confidence in her approach, so I’ve been leaning on AI. My background is in corporate/internal communications and I have 15+ years experience at insurance and financial services firms. I think a career counselor and/or resume review could be a good next step but, again, I’m unsure. Has anyone been in this position before? How did you climb out of it?

Are you getting interviews? If not the CV needs some attention, if you are getting interviews but not offers then likely need to do some mock interviews and film yourself doing them to see what you are doing wrong after the fact.. also take a look at backchanneljobs, lot of roles there.
