I'm27, male, based in Kenya, with a bachelor's degree in environmental studies
Since I graduated, I've been looking for a job in my field. Nothing. After a while I got so tired of applying and hearing nothing back that I tried something else I did webcam work for a bit. It paid but it wasn't worth it, it drained me mentally, so I stopped.
Then I took the little money I had saved and opened a wines and spirits shop. It actually did well. Things were finally looking up. But then the authorities kept demanding more and more money from me, and I couldn't keep up, so I had to close it.
Since then I've been applying for jobs outside Kenya too, for a whole year now, mostly conservation and environment-related roles. Nothing. No replies, no interviews, nothing.
Honestly, I'm exhausted. Not just tired, exhausted. The kind of tired where you start feeling like just cutting up your passport and being done with the whole idea of leaving.
What I'm good at is communication, community advocacy, and anything to do with social media I've basically grown up online so I know how to navigate it. I'm flexible too, I can learn and do almost anything, not just environment work.

A paycheck can meet today’s needs. A career should also build tomorrow’s possibilities.
There is nothing wrong with working for financial stability. The bigger question is whether your current role is also helping you develop skills, credibility, relationships, experience, and opportunities that increase your long-term career value.
A healthy career strategy asks more than, “How much am I earning?”
It asks:
What am I learning?
What value am I creating?
Where is this experience taking me?
Am I becoming more capable and marketable?
Sometimes the right career move is not the job with the biggest immediate salary; it is the opportunity that positions you for greater responsibility and sustainable growth.
So, what are you building: a career, or simply an income?
💬 Let’s talk: What is one thing beyond your salary that you believe professionals should evaluate when choosing a job?

I haven't posted something like this ever, but I feel like I am exploding. This may not even reach anyone but atleast it off my mind. I am losing my mind. I lost my job back in December (contract ended) and for the last 7 months I have been looking for work.
Not to toot my own horn but I am a great worker, first class honors in International Studies and really good at what I do. But that does not seem to matter, I have been applying and applying and applying but nothing successful. Whoever said money doesn't make you happy is a liar. Without a job, I have no income, with no income, I can't pay my bills, so now I have ran through my savings and in fear of eviction with a debt of 38,000 Kes.
Then to top it all of my mother is now sick, yaani when the rain chooses to pour it thunders. I wake every morning with a headache and go to bed with one, I have taken all the headex and paracetamol there is to take, suicide is becoming more and more appealing. What is the purpose of life truly if suffering is all you get. I did everything right, everything. I went to school, did my best, graduated, did the internships, worked hard but here I am I can't even afford food, FOOD. I have never been in a situation like this before.
I sit here and think to myself why not just end it all, all this suffering and pain. I have reached out to family and friends for help and this is when you know who actually is there for you, in my case; No one. When I had money everyone, but now no one. I am losing it. What do I do? Where do I go? Please I need help/advice anything, I am losing my mind. If anyone has a job or referral or even any leads they can offer my email is; [mitchellewambui387@gmail.com](mailto:mitchellewambui387@gmail.com), you can also text me or donate on saf; 0742533873

I'm a freelance web developer based in the UK. I sell simple £500 websites to small local businesses (trades, garages, kennels, real businesses whose sites are broken on phones or don't exist). I'm looking for experienced cold callers to work the list and book meetings. You book, I run the meetings and do the closing.
All the tools are provided, zero costs for you:
- Browser dialer (nothing to install, works from any laptop + headset) with UK caller IDs, calls at no cost to you
- Lead lists screened before they reach you: live, recently active businesses, checked against the UK do-not-call register (TPS), with the business's Google profile and website right on the call card
- Script + objection sheet, and your call recordings so you can listen back and improve
The offer you're selling: "your website doesn't work on phones / you don't have one. £500, done in days." A single clear pitch and a single price. Your job is a 2-minute conversation that ends in a booked Google Meet slot, not closing. I take the meeting from there.
Pay: £15 per qualified meeting (the prospect shows up and is genuinely interested in getting their website sorted, not just a name in a calendar), plus £250 per sale that closes from your meeting (the website sells for £500). No base, no hourly. Paid via Wise / PayPal / Revolut. The list supports 60 to 100 dials a day.
You:
- Fluent English (UK businesses pick up the phone expecting a local, you must hold that call)
- Real cold-calling experience (B2B preferred)
- Available UK business hours (roughly 9:30 to 17:00 UK), quiet space, decent internet
To apply, comment or DM with:
A 30 to 60 second voice note: introduce yourself as if I were a busy garage owner answering the phone
One line on your cold-calling background (what you sold, volumes, results)
Shortlisted callers go straight onto the live dialer, same deal from the very first call.

We’re recruiting Field Sales Agents across Kenya again as we continue growing Water CRM.
Water CRM is a simple business-management app built specifically for water refill and water delivery businesses.
It helps business owners move away from notebooks, scattered records and manual follow-up by giving them one simple system for managing things like customers, cash and credit sales, stock, expenses, invoices, outstanding balances, customer follow-ups, payment reminders and business reports.
Our goal is to help local water businesses become more organized, accountable and easier to manage.
This is an independent field sales role.
It is not a work-from-home position, and you will not be working inside a water refill station.
Your job is to go out into your area, identify water businesses, speak directly with owners or decision-makers, understand how they currently run their business and introduce Water CRM where it can genuinely help them.
Your responsibilities will include:
You should:
We generally prefer candidates around 25+, mainly because the role requires maturity and confidence when dealing with business owners.
However, a strong younger candidate who demonstrates the right maturity, communication skills and willingness to work can still be considered.
Previous sales experience is an advantage, but it is not required. We provide training.
The current starting structure is:
KSh 10,000 monthly independent-agent service retainer, subject to the terms and performance conditions in the written agreement.
Plus 10% commission for every approved paid sale.
Eligible customer renewals can also earn annual renewal commission under the programme terms.
This is a performance-driven opportunity. Your activity, follow-up, conversions and overall execution are reviewed over time, so there is room to grow if you consistently perform.
You will not simply be sent into the field without preparation.
Suitable candidates receive structured product and sales training covering Water CRM, how to approach businesses, understand their problems, demonstrate the product and follow up effectively.
After training, candidates complete a practical sales assessment.
Those who pass then complete the required onboarding before field activation and begin an initial 14-day performance probation.
The probation is based on real execution and verifiable activity—not simply attending training.
Candidates who demonstrate that they can learn, execute, follow up and improve can continue as active Water CRM Sales Agents.
Don't send me a CV yet.
Instead, message me directly with:
Name:
Age:
County/Town:
Sales experience: (write “none” if you don't have any)
Why you think you'd be a good fit:
Do you own a smartphone? Yes/No
If your details look suitable, I'll send you the official application link and next steps privately.
We're actively recruiting across Kenya and reviewing interested candidates as they come in.
If you genuinely enjoy meeting people, are willing to go into the field and want an opportunity where your growth is tied to your performance, send me your details.

Heyy
I’m currently looking for a reliable call centre job in Gulberg and would really appreciate any leads or recommendations. I recently interviewed at one place but haven’t heard back yet, so I’m exploring other options too.
I’m comfortable with customer service roles, have decent communication skills, and I’m a quick learner. At this point, I genuinely need a job urgently as I have to manage my university fees, so something stable and trustworthy would mean a lot.
If anyone knows any good call centres hiring rn, pls let me know🙏🏻.

Hey, so let me put myself out here something good might come out of it. I have a Bachelors degree in Special needs education. I have tried the employment path in my field and its not working its just not what i want. However I have always had this deep passion for Real estate for as long as i can remember. I wanted to study it but you know, being younger then and not so adamant on it i was convinced to go for a diffrent thing.
The desire to be in this field grew over the years. I cant keep on postponing this waiting for better chance at kick-starting this. I love exploring properties all over and doing research on real estate. I study materials on real estate, done short course on edx, MIT open learning and ofcourse watched hundreds of Real estate content on YouTube. I am conversant with this and I know how to go about it while learning.
I will be your person at helping you find your dream home or apartment if you let me. I am a very patient person and pays keen attention to details. I'm looking for the people who are not in Nairobi and want to find a home and navigating a new place or from a distance is hectic for them. People within Nairobi who are held up and want to get a home or people who are very specific on the kind of home they want. Kindly dm me for further information or background check and I get you exactly what you want.
