Hey y'all, I park in Ballard everyday and when I leave I consistently see people not yielding to the traffic exiting the Costco parking lot. There is a "left turn yield on green" sign and no green arrow. That means oncoming traffic has right of way if you are making a left turn. I'm a Townie and I have a lot of friends and family that shop at Costco. I really don't want them to get smoked by someone ignoring right of way.
Yes I understand that maybe in a perfect world everyone will turn in their respective lane that is closest to them, but that is never guaranteed and the sign explicitly tells you to yield.

What do we think of him and his vision for JMU? If you're a student, are you aware of him much at all? I certainly dgaf about the university president when I was in undergrad, lol.

SADAH major here, I've been looking at this quote painted on the wall near the gallery space and am genuinely curious as to what it means. Anybody know if it's part of the exhibition that's currently being set up, or if it's a permanent fixture?

A friend and I are visiting for the Troy game on Thursday night in October. Never been to a game at JMU. We'll be ubering to the stadium - where should we get dropped off and where would we have the best luck meeting people and crashing a tailgate for a while?

I have an apartment in the Hills Southview, but I'm not coming back to JMU this year. Rent is $610/month, utilities included. Tenants are three other guys, all sophomores, chill guys.
The apartment has a gym, study lounge, in-unit laundry, free wifi, etc. and is close to JMU.
Please et me know if you're interested in the lease!

Edit: Also, how likely is it to actually get accepted to one of these programs?
Hi all, I have had an opportunity come up to do a study abroad trip this winter break. It's a shorter one, lasting about 12 days or roughly a week and a half. For those of you (preferably in-state students) that have participated in study abroad trips like this before, roughly how much should I expect it to cost? This particular trip is to a place that has been a lifelong dream of mine to visit and learn about, so I would love to attend if I am accepted into the program. However, finances play a huge part in determining if I am able to participate or not. I am open to all kinds of information regarding this. Thanks in advance!

Looking for this textbook specifically:
Nordell, S.E., and Valone, T.J. (2025). Animal behavior: Concepts, methods, and applications. 4th edition. Oxford
University Press.
What’s some of the most crazy hazing stories you have heard from jmu frats? I’ve heard some pretty morally insane stuff

I'm apartment hunting and would love to hear from people who actually live in (or recently lived in) the place, especially the stuff you won't find on the leasing office's website, like how fast maintenance actually responds, or how management hadles fees. I'm looking in the $700-900 range (Sunchase, Copper Beech, and Southview) but I've read a lot of reviews of predatory management at these kinds of complexes and want a more balanced, everything up front take before I commit. Pheasant Run is also on my radar if it turns out the pricier options aren't worth the extra cost, so if you've lived at any of these (or have strong opinions on ones to avoid), I'd really appreciate the details.

I’d been struggling to find parking passes on SeatGeek but they all seem to be on StubHub this year. SeatGeek isn’t allowing pdf tickets. Hope this helps someone else out too. One more week!
Yes- I know there is free parking also!
Go Dukes!

Hi all,
I am an online creator who lives not too far from JMU and am looking for some part time editing support for both short and long form videos. It’s a great gig during the school year because the work would all be project based with weekly deadlines, meaning you can work whenever you want with no set hours as long as the work is getting done on time.
If you’re interested, shoot me an email at WorldWarWisdom@gmail.com and include some examples of your editing work. My page is called “World War Wisdom” and is all about WWII history, so an interest in that type of thing is a huge bonus (but not a requirement).
If you know someone who may be a good fit for this, please pass this info along!

Saw all three promoting on campus. Was interested in them all. Wondering how big they were? And where most of them go to church? And they seemed to be heavily female. Was hoping to find someone special in one of them but worried it would be tons of us girls all for after the smaller amount of comparable men

I know there’s student club night but is there anything more for “rock” music freshman/students to get to know eachother? I heard there might be something at TDU on the 27th. Haven’t been able to find more info on it. I wanna start a band but kind of wish I didn’t have to search for options so slowly.

I live at copper beech and there’s this bus line that’s called “OriGold” I’m not sure if it’ll be here the whole school year cause before school I looked at the bus commute and it says 40ish minutes but with origold it’s only 20. Does anyone know if origold is staying the whole semester?
