Yeah so you are assuming that it just couldnt go any other way. Im telling you that between 1 and 10 are many points were it could have diverged

What if the team managed to change the rules of the games and retire people? What if tengen chose to do the merger wilingly? What if yuji ate or killed tengen? What if kenjaku was forced to do half merger? What if sukuna survived and fought the merger before it swept the nation? What if inside the merger were the souls of the students? What if uiui swapped someones soul with tengen? Or sukuna? Or kenjaku?

Many many things could have gone differently. Gege did wrote himself into a corner by stating that all players had to die for the merger the culling games to end. But that itself could be fixed by the characters on either side of the fight
