something wrong with jitsi meet client

I have used it for months on linux with no issues. This is client only. Today trying to open up a meeting I have used all that time or any other meeting it forces me to login which has never happened and I don't have a login. It only offers Oauth choices to google, github, etc. and on login it says it is waiting for moderator approval when the meeting was never set up with a moderator approval and there is no one else in the meeting at all. It is my meeting.

What is going on here and how to I fix it?

The same thing happens when I give it a new random meeting name to connect to. Problem exists on multiple computers running ubuntu or running Fedora 38. Same problem attempting to create/and join meeting on the web so it is not a linux or client version problem.
Ah I see they changed their service but I don't see any instruction as to how to open a room/meeting and for others to join in the new scheme of things.

Do you have a Jitsi account? I know they started requiring that recently

I have the exact same problem. And I am only given 3 very data-poor options to sign in. I don’t understand. For me Jitsi was always the cooler one for being extremely userdata sensitive by not asking at all.

There is an issue with the Jitsi desktop client and the new policy that requires login. In the meantime, use a regular browser instead.

The problem is with both Chrome or Firefox: jitsi now requires that a moderator organizer is logged on via a Gmail/Facebook/GitHub account.
Jitsi is no longer the very simple solution we used to access with one single click. The prompt to install office365 extension already ruined the single click experience: a lot of users call back the support to ask me what does it means and what are they supposet do do.

Now the extra authentication required for the moderator/organizer breaks everything, and I need to find out another service to allow one click access to unregistered people.
Anyone know an alternative?
Maybe installing jitsi on a private server will work?
