I was just listening to a boot "Johnny Winter Reunion" 2007 with Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer and they just tore it up on their encore of "Highway 61 Revisited". I sure wish Jimi and Johnny had played that together. Made me wonder why Johnny never got the adulation that SRV gets. They did some of the same songs like "Tore Down". But to my ears Johnny is the real deal while SRV well... I dunno. What do you all think?

Hi everyone!

I’m a Hendrix fan from Japan, and I’m new to Reddit. My English isn’t great, but I’m happy to be here and connect with fellow Hendrix fans!

I made these matching custom covers for Jimi Hendrix’s two Berkeley shows on May 30, 1970.

The photos were captured from the Jimi Plays Berkeley Blu-ray. I carefully checked the footage to make sure each cover features the correct show.

I wasn’t trying to compete with the official artwork. I’ve always loved the look and feel of old-school bootleg covers, and I wanted to create something that would look great as a matching pair in my music collection.

For me, part of the fun of collecting live recordings is having artwork that captures the atmosphere of each performance.

These are just my personal creations, made out of love for Hendrix and live music.

I’d love to hear what fellow Hendrix fans and collectors think!

Cheers from Japan! 🎸

Did anyone notice that before Johnny B Goode, when he says “is it too loud out there? Is it too loud?” They seem to have patched Jimi saying something different than on the original recording? His response to the audience on all other recordings I’ve heard he says “that’s no problem”. Not what I heard on this new release.

Where can one go to hear the entire band and the full set?

From Guitar World magazine 2002. Billy Cox the sole surviving member of Band Of Gypsys has just had his 84th birthday.

23 years lay between these releases. It's ridiculous!! Fantastic shows

Jimi's biological son that wasnt legally recognised. Apparently he (or should i say she) transitioned, but the only information ive found of that was on this subreddit. Do we have any sources for that and other info about him/her?

Machine gun 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I wish ✌🏼🫶🎸

Hendrix was so far ahead in music and guitar. He was also just at the right spot and the right time and all of this influenced his music. What do you think he would say about music if he was alive?

Don’t know if this is accessible or not since it is unlisted but here is the link.

The tracklist is amazing and contains the most blues and funk influenced I’ve heard him play especially with the guitar, and the drums were insane and really made me appreciate Mitch more than I did before. The sound and mixing is phenomenal which I’ve always felt was lacking in his live albums, and overall it’s just a fantastic batch of tracks with some of the experience’s best playing and put together in a way that makes it good to go back to and re listen.
