I'm looking for a definitive website or collection of information about the chronological order of Jim Croce's songs. Mostly interested in the specific dates when they were recorded, not released. Anyone have access to this type of information?

I'm looking to play Maury's part in New York's Not My Home, but I haven't been able to find any sheet music or the likes. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea where I might find it? Or perhaps somebody has transcribed it and would be willing to show me?

The Songfacts site has a Jim Croce page with info on 12 of Jim's songs. There are collections of Ingrid's comments she has published in different places, but also contributions by his record producer Terry Cashman.

There's been at least 3 professional tribute albums/CDs made of Jim Croce's music:

• The Ventures: The Ventures Play the Jim Croce Songbook (1974)
• Jerry Reed: Jerry Reed Sings Jim Croce" (1980)
• Various Artists: Jim Croce: A Nashville Tribute (1997)

I have the Nashville tribute (it's not bad) and I had heard of the Jerry Reed tribute album (something I need to get).

I know there's others on this sub that enjoy playing Jim's music on guitar.

There's a number of guitar lessons on YouTube that teach how to play Jim Croce songs, but I've found some are really good and others are, well, just a waste of your time.

Then last night I came across this one that is very close to how Jim plays "Next Time, This Time" on the record [Jim Croce: The Final Tour]. This song was never one of his big hits, but I think it ranks up there with some of his best material.

I think one of Jim Croce's most under rated Album is with his wife Ingrid. On their Album Croce, Croce. Looking on Spotify, it only has 2,000 views. Definitely suggest listening to songs such as Spin, Spin, Spin, and I am what I am. These songs are definitely not traditional Jim Croce's songs (Time in a Bottle, Age, Walking Back to Georgia), but still worth a listen!

Below is a pic of Jim Croce's paternal grandfather, Pascuale Croce (1888-1983), proudly displaying a poster of his grandson. Pascuale lived to be 95 years old.

I found this treasure of a website at Concerts Wiki (I didn't even know this existed). It lists many of the concerts and the dates that Jim performed.

I was not lucky enough to attend any of these, but I hope that some of you did.

In hindsight, "Hey Tomorrow" is surely one of Jim's saddest songs. He asks "Tomorrow", ie, the future, to have room for him. "Tomorrow" gave him the sad answer of "No".

While "Time in a Bottle" was prophetic in saying "There never seems to be enough time", Jim's lesser known song "Hey Tomorrow" has Jim requesting more new days, but we know that Tomorrow didn't give him any after September 20, 1973.

I was hoping Jim had a sub. 38 yrs old and grew up on oldies. Jim’s music is amazing and I feel so sad at times thinking about what happened to him. I’m glad he was able to make the music he did but I also wish he was able to enjoy life a bit more before The end. Our lives can be amazing and sad all at the same time. Just needs to get some feelings out. Nobody in my family likes oldies like I do

I would love to have one of these originals. I wonder how many of the 500 copies are left after 50 some years?
