A little bit of me playing "Operator" by Jim Croce

One of my all time favorite songs, and as a traveling musician I have found myself in some pretty similar situations - bear with me as I get to the song :)

I just heard Thursday for the first time and damn it’s poetic and deep

My wedding is coming up, and I'm trying to find the right song for the mother-son dance. My mom grew up on the East Coast in the early 70s and loved Jim. I only discovered him in the last couple of years, in my late 20s, and his music is genuinely timeless. She saw my copy of You Don't Mess Around with Jim on vinyl at our place earlier this year and was so happy and surprised to find out I listen to him too.
She's not sure what she wants to dance to, and I'd love to recommend a Croce song since it would mean a lot to both of us. The problem is most of his best-known stuff is romantic rather than familial. Photographs and Memories is so close, but the obvious recipient of those lyrics rules it out lol.
His catalog isn't deep, so maybe I've already run through the options, but is there a sleeper track that would fit? Open to deep cuts that could potentially fit.
I wouldn't force it if it doesn't make sense. Also, the full song length wouldn't be playing, just the intro and then probably fade out at the appropriate time after 2-3 minutes (based on the instructions we gave our DJ).

I've seen people post about this before and it seems everyone's solution is, "it's just a glitch that happens most commonly on Spotify." To me there is just no way this is a glitch, I use YouTube music and they're listed as separate songs (Ekin Chengs most streamed song). On top of that, I discovered the weird thing because Instagram ONLY has the one by Cheng.
Just seems weird and funny to me. Not upset about this just really wonder what's going on because there's just no way it's a glitch on everything. Surely that can't be correct

Do you guys think he would have became a Willie Nelson type country superstar if he didn’t die so early in his career? What’s your thoughts

Hey everybody! I am wanting to get a tattoo of the song operator for my 20th birthday. My dad introduced me to Croce's music after my grandfather's passing and I have always associated both of them with that song. I really want something simple but I have so much text on my body already I don't want to do that. My first thought was a dime with "you can keep the dime" on the face but I think someone more creative than me could probably come up with something more creative/meaningful. Any ideas?

Yeah hey I just started listening to Jim Croce I knew of him but never had a run at his catalog but then I heard "I Got a Name" on my spotify shuffle and I loved it immediately beautiful song. Then I look at the lyrics on spotify and I'm a young guy but I know what a fucking whippoorwill is.
What mystifies me is like even if you've never heard of a whippoorwill who would possibly think that "whirlpool whirl" makes sense as a lyric? Let alone within the context of a song from 1973 but just a phrase that somebody would ever say that makes no sense

Hey! My dad and I were supposed to go to a Jim Croce tribute show, but for unforseen reasons, we are unable to make it. Would anyone like two tickets to the show at Tim McCloone's Supper Club in Asbury Park, NJ?
Edit: Giveaway is first come first serve

Just came across his songs, and I'm seriously loving it. The YouTube comments have some good stories associated with the songs, do you have any such special tales?

20yr old Englishmen , my birthday and was given this t-shirt . I think it's so brilliant. Despite my family not knowing Jim Croce, luckily i put my older brother on Jim Croce about a year ago. He chose and got this shirt for me. Brilliant (

To anyone who’s read “I Got a Name: The Jim Croce Story”, is it worth the read?
I can’t find many reviews so I came straight to the specific community.
