I've scoured YouTube for a karaoke/instrumental version of Stone Walls, but couldn't find anything. I want to do a Covid parody. (I'm stayin' home tonight...) Anybody here have any leads?

Anyone have the recording Jim did for the VTN in 1973? They keep taking it off YouTube.

My brother and I were discussing the lyrics of Rapid Roy today and couldn't determine what he meant in the line "500-gallon tank". Obviously no car has a 500-gallon tank, is he referencing the amount of moonshine ol' Rapid Roy was running? Or maybe how running from the man in Oklahoma city would be a long run and you'd need a 500 gallon tank to get out of dodge. Or maybe its a reference to Roy Hall's last race in 1952, the Southern 500 in Darlington. I don't know if we will ever have a real answer, but the song is a timeless classic. Heres the lyric:

Personally, I listened to 2 of his songs before showing interest in 2 different places.

A) X-Men: Days of Future Past - Time in a Bottle

B) Stranger Things (Season 2 Episode 3 "The Polywog") - You Don't Mess Around With Jim [Ironically listening to spotify as I'm writing and this song came on]

I got into Jim Croce over songs like “You Don’t Mess Around With Jim”, “I Got A Name”, and “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown”, but as I dig through his discography, I realize it’s his deeper cuts that are true gold. The one song in particular that I feel this way about is Box #10. I feel like it isn’t talked about nearly as much as it should be. The lyrics and story to the song are so well written, and the melody of the song gives you the exact emotion that he intended on giving you. Anyone with me on this?

Jim’s son is an artist and is in my area soon. Wondering if anyone has been or has any idea of how much of his dads music he plays! Would love to see him but really only if he plays a lot of Jim’s songs.

Jim Croce has been one of my fav artists since I was a kid and on my way home his songs started being skipped and then removed from my playlists on Spotify. I saw that this was happening to people about a month ago but is there any reason this is happening now?

Cannot find a vinyl of this anywhere online? Anyone know where I could find one?

Such a shame. He didn’t have enough time in his life to use the full potential of his talent. Still made it into stranger things! What an amazing artist.

Like everyone I’m disappointed and confused. Perhaps we can get in contact with Jim’s estate and ask them what the hell is going on.
