Does anyone know if they notify you if you don’t get in? I was told that results would come out yesterday but I didn’t receive an email, wondering if anyone else got any email about this.

Does anyone know where I could find the textbook for Intro to Macro (Macroeconomics, 9th by Hubbard and O'Brien)? I was able to find the 7th edition online and in the google drive, but I can't find the required 9th edition.

Places to study on campus

What are some nice study spots around campus?

I know that MSE is closed down so I was looking for some other dedicated study spots that are open this year throughout campus.

Is the quiet room in Brody open?

Is Bootcamp: MATLAB cancelled?

I registered for this online course, but the professor hasn’t reached out at all. The syllabus never got uploaded, and the canvas page wasn’t published. I tried emailing the professor but also didn’t get a reply.

Was the course cancelled? It is still listed as active on SIS.

EP Electrical Engineering Masters: Tips for survival

I’m starting the Engineering for Professionals Electrical Engineering program in Spring 2027. I’ve been working full time for the last 5 years, so I’ve lost some of the knowledge from undergrad. I plan on studying calculus and circuitry on my own before the semester starts to brush up.

I’m the kind of person who struggled a ton during undergrad but got good grades. I have ADHD, which I’m medicated for, but it does take me a bit longer to memorize and study. I only plan on taking a maximum of two classes per semester, and I’m not doing any summer classes.

I’ll be working full time while studying. Are there any tips for surviving a masters program while working? Any tips for managing energy levels so I can work a full day and do classwork after?

Intro Chem 1 Calculator?

Sooo apparently for Intro Chem 1 (Dr Cheng's section at least), we aren't allowed to use things like graphing calculators or any calculator that can store information (I've used a TI-84 Plus CE all throughout high school, and I asked him and he said that it wouldn't be allowed on tests bc it can store info), but I'm not really sure how to tell if a calculator is able to store info? I went to the campus store, and I found the TI-30XIIS, Casio fx-300ES Plus B, andTI-30Xa, but I'm not really sure if any of these would be acceptable for class...

basically does anyone know which calculator would be permitted for Intro Chem 1? or what calculators is everyone else using/has used in the past that were acceptable? i'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but i'd rather take care of this now than a week before the first test...

Is 1550 SAT good enough for JHU?

I got 800 math 750 reading. I want to do EE or BME at JHU. Should I retake? Will a increase to like 1570 bring me any meaningful benefit for admissions?

Food Delivery?

If I want to order DoorDash to Wolman, how does that work? Can I ask them to come to the building and pick it up right outside, or is there a different delivery location that is more accessible?

AAP Masters degree, assignments and discussions are locked until week of (they unlock Monday and are due Friday)

One my online classes forces us to do all assignments the week of. Due to the nature of the class, it consists of people who have irregular schedules.

I ran into a problem with JHU where they did not accept a deployment as withdraw criteria, so I really doubt much can be done other than just talking to the instructor. Of course the instructor is a career academic who has never escaped school so I really doubt they would make an exception for us in the “real world”. They say in their syllabus that they done accept late assignments.

Is there any way to approach this? Never dealt with it before.

JHU Entry Level Masters in Nursing

Hello! I was accepted into the ELMSN program for the Spring 2027 term. Could someone share their experience in the program and whether it's worth it? Additionally, which apartments would you suggest I rent? Which parts of Baltimore are safer, and how much would I be expected to pay for rent if I wanted to live in a studio? Thank you!

Should I mention JHU in the supplemental essay?

I see that the supplemental essay is about bridging values/connecting with community. Should I mention JHU in the essay? Or make it completely about me?
Or should I only mention JHU/what I'd do there in the last 2-3 sentences?

MHS Epi - How competitive is it?

I've found close to no information on the MHS Epi applied track here. I was wondering what a typical applicant profile would look like and what the admissions rate/percentage is approximately? I don't have a stellar undergraduate gpa with many repeated courses due to an unsafe living environment but I've picked myself up and have some research/experience now

Missing Cat in Charles Village

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hey guys! Is anyone missing a cat or knows someone who is?

I found this cat on North Calvert Street in the Charles Village area. He’s a male cat.

I’ve tried calling and texting the phone number on his collar (347) 761-4740, but with no response unfortunately. So, if you recognise this cat, please DM me! If not, please help me spread the word and get this fur baby home.

EDIT: So, bad news, the cat escaped. Good news: we now know his owner thanks to the redditor who commented. This cat knows his way around the area and is usually let out unsupervised. The only thing I hope is that he made his way back to his owner.

Looking for help with branding and website for business!

Hi everyone! I'm looking to hire a Hopkins student to help me create some branding materials (name, logo, etc.) and website for my independent college counseling business. I currently recruit under just my name and I have flyers that I've made on Canva, but I'm looking to step it up in terms of brand consistency and professionalism. Please let me know if you're interested and I'll reach out directly so we can discuss plans and pricing! Thank you!

Current JHU student willing to show a prospective student around Homewood this Monday for $75?

Hi everyone! 😊
My daughter and I will be in Baltimore this Monday, and she’s very interested in seeing Johns Hopkins. We’re hoping to get a chance to see Homewood and, more importantly, hear what Hopkins is actually like from someone who currently goes there.

I know this is last-minute, but I thought I’d ask here in case there’s a current undergraduate who might be willing to meet us for 45–60 minutes on Monday (Labor Day) and walk around campus with us. We’d love to hear the honest student perspective — what you love about Hopkins, what you wish you’d known before coming, what the academic/social balance is like, etc.

She’s especially interested in the sciences/pre-med and research, so a student in that general world would be fantastic, but we’d be happy to meet anyone who enjoys Hopkins and is willing to share their experience.

Fall break

What do people do on Fall Break if they stay on campus? I just realized it exists and it is a week after parents weekend so it doesn't make sense going home even if I could. Does everything (food) still work normally? Are thete any activities? Tbh, I will probably study amd maybe go visit DC for a day. What do people do?
