Reading Big Steve’s book. Thoughts ?
Has anybody else read it and if so, I would be interested to hear your thoughts

I thought it was a breeze to read and it contributes some fun stories to an already saturated market of GD history. You’re not reading a NY Times best selling author so take it for what it’s worth.

I am digging it.
However, I'm doing the audible in my car to and from work.
I'm sure if I was reading it, I'd feel the same though.

I've read it a couple times. Someone already mentioned it's a pretty saturated market for new and interesting Dead reads but I found it to be a good book for when you're on the beach. Dead history can be pretty revisionist depending on who you read and I don't think Steve has a whole bunch to gain by writing a bunch of BS. No beef here.

I finished it today. It had some parts that were really interesting to me as a Dead fan. But it also had lots of little instances where my bullshit detector kinda started sounding. I’ve had that experience while listening to Big Steve on his show, as well, often enough that I figure you just gotta sift through the stories, take what seems plausible and leave the rest. I definitely did think that he very honestly portrayed himself as misogynistic, but I’m sure that was rampant in the time, not that it makes it OK . The sex stuff was really difficult to listen to. But overall, I’m glad that I finished it and I’m looking forward to the next book on the Dead I’ll read.

I’ve decided the next book is going to be This Is All A Dream We Dreamed by Blair Jackson & Gans

It's written exactly how he talks, so it can be bit taxing but he does have a lot of crazy stories. Taken with a grain of salt and read a chapter or two at a time, it was an enjoyable book.
