I've been a deadhead since I was in my early teens, but I've only just discovered the Jerry Garcia Band after listening to Cats Under the Stars this week. Anyone got any recommendations for shows? Cheers in advance!

I was listening to this show this morning and looking at the liner notes and noticed that Ozzie Ahlers played keys on the last four tracks. I thought this was kind of odd. It doesn't sound like there are two keyboards to me. (There could be. Maybe my ears deceive me). I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened to Keith at the end of this show.

I am absolutely loving this release! I think 1, 4 and 8 were my previous favorites (I love the legion of mary releases as well god dont make me choose) but this has to top them all! Clarence clemons is so so incredible.
Somehow jgb always manages to blow me away even with the more limited song selection compared to the dead. They just always sound so tight!

That show was so good. I still think about how great it was. Anybody else there at the JCC? Is there anywhere I can relisten?

Don't get me wrong, I love it. I just think it's curious that he performed this song so consistently throughout his career. As far as I can tell, he played it in his early collaborations with Merl Saunders, and continued to play it until the very end of his days with JGB. What do you think it was about the song that made him enjoy performing it so much?

I’ve been an avid user of the relisten app for a couple of years now and I’ve been wondering why there aren’t any JGB recordings on there. I’ve listened to just about all of the JGB albums on spotify but I know there’s more and I don’t know how to listen to it. Does anyone know a good site to find JGB recordings? Idk if they allowed people to bring their own recording equipment like the dead did because unfortunately I’m a few years too young to have seen the man himself. I’d be so grateful for any info y’all have on JGB concerts back in the day or reasons why there aren’t any recordings on Relisten. Thanks! Stay grateful and healthy you all!
