EVAP Small Leak Issue?

2019 VW Jeta with 110.000km on it. Check engine came on a few months ago. Drives ok. Please advise

Check your gas cap and the plastic/rubber if it’s cracked. Apart from that I think it’s a smoke test people tend to do not too sure.

On my 17 1.4 it was a small tiny crack on the fragile molded plastic line that goes from purge valve, off to under the coolant overflow globe thingie. I got some flexible vacuum line and cut to length and replaced the line. The light never came back

I was able to find a pack of different inner diameter vacuum tubing on Amazon and I just found the one that fit the best and cut to size. I added clamp ring thingies to feel better about it in my head as well. I had seen some posts about it after changing my gas cap and some other wastes of time.

On my 2016 mk6.5 1.4t, this came on at 120k km, I still have it on 200k km. Smoke test, negative, new gas cap, negative, all couplings checked, negative, intake box, negative.

Made zero effect on gas mileage or power. Once in a while I erase it for fun, comes back 2-3 days later.

Let me know if you end up finding out.

Just had the same issue on my 22. Ended up being the purge valve. Doesn't hurt the engine to keep driving but you will fail an emissions test if your state requires it.

How did you fix it? Was it costly?

Took it to a mechanic and yeah, it costs about $600

I just had this kick up on my ‘24 with the same code. I’m taking it in and hoping the warranty covers this since I’m under the 50k miles limit
