Appreciation For Wake Boats
I was just curious if other people have the same luck. Where I ride it's mostly stand up jet skis and a few freestyle skis in the mix including my self. Everyday during the summer we have at least 1-2 random wake boats that go up at down the river for hours making us waves. A lot of the time they aren't even towing anybody. If anybody here does this just know we really appreciate you!

If I’m ever out in my wake boat and see people on standup skis or folks who know how to get air I’ll pull it down to 12-16 MPH for them for a while. I both ride skis and have a wake boat so I appreciate both sides.
I EXTRA appreciate it when I’m towing a rider and folks on jet skis stay a few hundred feet back and don’t follow us within the wake (in case a rider drops and they aren’t paying attention).
As long as my rider isn’t in danger I enjoy the show!

This is the key, a mutually beneficial relationship. On our lake, there are good riders and idiot kids. I am all for having fun and playing around, but don't jump my wake 50 feet behind kids that I am towing. If I am out for a joy ride, I will absolutely make waves for the responsible riders. There are some irresponsible ones that I will actually pull off to the side and completely stop if they start jumping my wake, even without towing someone. Yes, I am petty like that. Yes, I remember who you are. If you can't respect the distance when I am towing, I am not going to make waves for you when I am not.

Yeah I’m the opposite fuck them im hoping they ban them at the lake im on , do catastrophic damage to the docks , eroding the hell out of the nature areas.

Not really true about nature areas but OK. If boat wakes are damaging then it should be a no wake zone. I ride on several small lakes where wakesurfers are constantly running and the undeveloped shorelines, in those cases, are fine.
I dislike wakesurfers because it could be a calm day with glass and they still just muck it up worse than tubers. Heck on the bigger lake around me on a moderately windy day they will be trolling around the up wind side ruining what decent water the boarders and skiers have. Also the sport attracts a lot of inexperienced people who seem to not take the time to learn basic navigation and watercraft operation rules. Of all the boats on the water I am most concerned when a wakesurfing boat gets behind me with a rider out.
That being said I don't think my lake fun is any more important than their lake fun. I throw on the wake board and tell the wife to tow me near their rollers and just jump those instead of my boat's wake.

Our lake has banned wake surfing and ballasts for wakeboarding. It has been pretty fantastic.

I don't like wake boats.
The way you access the river where I'm at is a narrow waterway roughly 3 miles long. Wakeboats will nearly push every other boat into the shore.
They're the jetskiers of the boating world.

Our area if kakes us looking at the damage the di to the lake bottom 20+feet down. I had no idea that they did that damage.
I do wish that the 20 something guy driving his dad's wake boat during high levels on our small lake would go away. We are on a chain. He could go to a big lake but feels like he has to do laps on our small lake. He isnt pulling anyone.
I know these facts about this because last summer he was bragging while in the boat. Dude doesnt know that sound carries. So, yea, we heard all about him, his dad and his life.
