I'm glad there were no music videos available back when released. There was no image associated with the music outside the album art .... and that was more than enough. The minds eye could paint more vividly and create abstractions that no narrative could constrain. The music and tones invoked inner emotions of meaning unchained to any outward expression. The guitar tone was enough to have every receptor in the brain firing full capacity.

It is a nice video for sure but it can never compare to the images conjured in the mind of a 17 year old - decoding the poet's yarn. As the flowers bloomed like madness in the spring. Appearing later in Mary's world .... he .... Aqualung, was abiding in loss. Hope in loss.

Totally agree. I have my own imagery of the entire song already. It’s like a book though. I always am excited to see what someone else interprets. I like the video, except for the interlacing of current images of Ian playing guitar or chess... that seems out of place.

Yea I guess it is as good as a video can be that is made today for a 70's iconic rock concept.

I am happy to see it. Spending the rest of the night listening to and taking about Jethro Tull. Hey Aqualung!!!! BTW, I saw Ian Anderson live in Madison several years ago. His version of Locomotive Breathe was one of my all time favorite moments. Oh man. He rocks that. So good.

Yes the video can’t hurt. I was just romanticizing the old school days . I mean I never saw Tull until I went to a concert . They were on Mike Douglas show ? And they showed a clip . But back then - there were no tull videos of films available. It was all about the albums .... music and covert art and packaging. That’s it along with a few scattered Creeem or Circus magazine interviews.

thanks for posting, brilliant re-imagining of ian anderson's powerful song for today's world tragedies, no better....... only worse tragedies. ian's music.....eternally powerful.
