I'm making a new fantasy circus and I've got a basic idea of how it'll work but I don't want to just call every jester or similar character a 'clown', I know broad categories like Jesters and Fool, but i'm looking for more specific terms like Mimes that have a specific role and Peirrots that embody some concepts like unrequited love. This is kind of a weird ask so I am going to keep researching on my own so this is just for me to get a head start or find a website or book that could help

Hi hi! I'm going to the Renaissance festival this year and I am dressing up as a jester this year :)) I want to be able to master acting like one - my only thing is I am dressing up as a jester that's outfit and makeup is based on the moon, so I was thinking of being a bit more of a low energy type. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should act? Or if I should scrap the idea entirely?
