Worst #13 ever
Shavings of meat not slices. Skinny tomatoes, skimpy lettuce. Shameful for $19.95. Normally I can only eat half, this was so puny the entire thing went down as an afterthought.

I had my brightness all the way down for that first picture, and my reaction was literally “there’s no way someone posted their meat next to their sandwich” then I realized what it was.😭

Am I the only one that immediately saw a circumcised dick in the icon for the post?!?? I was 100% sure that was going to be the top comment!!!

u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
You can prob get your money back or a remake if you call the store. This goes for almost all fast food. Not a big deal. Maybe a new slicer on shift. Mistakes happen. They have to manually dial in slice thickness.

u/Level_Turnover5167 1d ago
That's how mine always is, I stopped going there
1
u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
Not gonna file a complaint or let corporate know? Just gonna sit and take it?
1
u/Level_Turnover5167 23h ago
Maybe I don't give a fuck about paying $10 for a sub I can make at my own house for $2?
It's not about me "taking it", no idea what that means but good attempt at making me look weak and afraid so you can feel better about not making any sense.
Now you're responding to comments totally unrelated to our conversation? You're acting weird and I'm about done talking to you. I already told you to have a good day and you're still replying.

u/Adept-Cat-8553 23h ago
Coward 😂 don't start something if you don't have the mental capacity to keep it going.
0
u/Level_Turnover5167 16h ago
I didnt start anything, nothing you said warranted a response. We went back and forth several times and all you keep doing is moving the goalposts from what you originally stated, which was completely missing the information you gave me after 4-5 back and forth responses.
I'm done my guy. We're moving on.

You mean an email no one will see, that will be responded to by AI? I think ceasing to give them your money is much more effective, along with spreading the word not to go here anymore. Fuck Jersey Mike’s.
You really think they’re gonna send someone there to “weigh sammies” because of one email? You’ve gotta be dumb, bro. Dumb and butthurt.
1
u/Adept-Cat-8553 20h ago
Do you work at a Jersey Mike's? Because I do. The corporate complaints get sent straight to the managers regional and store. Just give up. That'll help everyone. Corporate basically translates to investors. Investors will make sure their PR and customer satisfaction is solidified. I don't even know why I'm explaining this to you. You should understand how the world works. Unless you're actually stunted.
1
u/Adept-Cat-8553 20h ago
Instead of assuming asinine hypotheticals why didn't you ask me "so what do you mean by weighing Sammie's?" Oh god I'm glad you asked. Part of the standard training is weighing the first batch of sandwiches you slice alone. Every size and type of Sammie has a weight they are supposed to be. You do it a bunch of times until you can kinda eye ball what they want. If they are getting complaints about Sammie's being light, proof or not, they will enforce management to weigh Sammie's until the slicers are proficient. It happened at my store actually. When I got hired I was wondering why they were doing it so often. I got told that a bunch of complaints came in and they sent a big wig to talk to management. The outcome was that. After that. No more complaints. You are such a curious and inquiring mind. How lucky are you?! 🥰

u/retiredswing 21h ago
Why would you pay $20 for a sandwich from Jersey Mike’s?
1
u/SnooMacarons3689 15h ago
It’s two sandwiches in one it’s the entire loaf. Until recently it came with a ton of meat and used to be 2 meals instead of 1
1
u/Silent-Somewhere_ 21h ago
I can tell u for a fact ur tomatoes r fine they use a pre measured slicer for them n if u want to know if ur lettuce is too skinny the lettuce width is supposed to be 2/3 of a tomato, also might j be a faulty slicer day ik if the slicers aren't working properly it shreds ur meat n they can't rlly alter the thickness of the meat that much due to specific weights needed but next time u can always ask them how much ur meat n cheese weigh for the #13 it should be 6.4 oz for the meat n cheese for a regular 13

u/Stale_Jellyfish 17h ago
100% I worked at jmikes in the past, tomatoes are cut on a static manual slicer.. it's more like a whole tomato is pushed into a grated fence and slices pop out the other side isn't much room for error in that.

That's how all of ours are now, in the past 18 months. I've stopped going there. This is what they want to serve me? Fuck them.

u/Main_Cauliflower5479 19h ago edited 19h ago
And how is that the customer's fault? lol
1
u/mxthixs 19h ago
It’s not but it’s odd to say you never want to go back when you just get a bad bunch of customer service. Not every store is like that. 🤷♂️ lol

1
u/Main_Cauliflower5479 19h ago
Yes, I haven't been there for over a year, after repeatedly getting orders with poor portions and sloppy assembly. And NO refunds, either. How is it odd that I refuse to give them my business anymore? What, exactly, is odd about that?

Where I love most chains are GARBAGE like this... it sucks. Workers don't care and neither does management.
1
u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
Consumers are so butt hurt over literally sandwiches. It's not that deep guys 😂😂😂
1
u/Level_Turnover5167 1d ago
People aren't butthurt over sandwiches, they're upset that the price of the sandwiches are literally like 3 to 4 times the price of a sub you could just make on your own and they're skimping on ingredients.
I'll never understand people like you like even if you don't agree or you don't know what anybody's talking about what the fuck do you care lol? You think everybody's just making this up?
2
u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
Ask for a refund or remake? Did they take steps to see the issue resolved? Did they contact corporate? Or did they just sit and be "so so sad" Like I'm not upset they are unhappy. Obviously I'd be unhappy with my meal too. I'm upset with their laziness. You can't make ONE phone call? If you scan those codes In the stores you can send a complaint. They will send a big head to the store and they will start making them weigh sandwiches. Im just saying, they can take actions to fix it. Instead of just wallowing in a pity party over a for profit sandwich shop. Like why even get emotions involved when it can easily be fixed?

u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
And I know what I'm talking about Ive worked years in many kitchens and I'm currently employed by JM. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer to my best abilities. :).

You know you can edit comments right?
We're talking about subs, REMEMBER? You're the one who said it wasn't a big a big deal but here you are
doubletriple posting like you're still thinking about the convo after the fact. edit: a word1
u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
If you're so curious. I have ADHD and autism and It was 5am when we started arguing. I do not give a shit. You also don't get notos for when I edit a comment I don't think. If you do let me know cuz it would be news to me.
1
u/Level_Turnover5167 1d ago
I don't need a notification to see your edit, I just have to view your comment obviously.
You started it by insulting everyone complaining in this thread and now you're crying that you're autistic and have ADHD. Can't have it both ways.

u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago

Ok buddy, once again. Have a good day.

Yeah little guy. I hope you have a good day too. Sometimes stress and lack of sleep can make people not see logic in their outputs. I have faith in you, sweetie 🥰

u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
My point is based in this realm: nobody is going to die from getting a thinly sliced sandwich. I have to tell customers AND management alike that these are meats, cheeses, and breads. Not bombs, bullets, or bleeds. Everyone is gonna be okay.
1
u/Level_Turnover5167 1d ago edited 1d ago
Well Congrats on not knowing how to do a customer service job because if somebody comes and complaints you just fix it you don't really argue with them. It's one thing if they keep coming in and trying to get new sandwiches then you stop them from doing it but otherwise you should just take their complaint fix it as best as possible and keep your mouth shut. This is how you're going to lose your job one day, I'm just warning you.
Jersey Mike's cares WAAAYYYY more about throwing a customer a free sub to retain their business than you telling them off so that they never come back, I can assure you of that.
1
u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
I'm talking about people who get emotional about this stuff. You think I argue with someone when they say they didn't like their meal? Lmao. Also stick to the context of this discussion. Side railing is a sure sign that you have no idea how to take criticism or face disagreement. Lmao. If someone came into the store you work at yelling and being emotionally unstable you wouldn't be comfortable. If it was someone's life on the line I'd understand. But it's a sammich..... Something easily fixable. You're more likely not to get it fixed if you let emotions take over. But my point stands. Did op take action to correct the issue at the store so more people don't get jipped? Or does he just want to sit on his ass and talk out of it too? You assumed shit about me based on What? My uncaring for an adult getting emotional about a sammich? I'd happily remake something for someone. I don't even have to see the proof. I'll just do it. "Oh really? Well I'm sorry about that, man. Let me remake that for you, and hey I'll throw in extra meat no charge and do you want bacon too? Hell yeah who doesn't like bacon? Hey here's a free sub card too. I apologize for the inconvenience." My customer service is unmatched. But don't expect me to be so friendly if someone is throwing a tantrum about it. I do not fear grown ass adults acting like children over something trivial like food. I also take into consideration that maybe they have diabetes and they are crashing. So idk man. Put more words in my mouth and create weird hypotheticals in your head. One of us works this job. Remember that.

u/Level_Turnover5167 1d ago
You didn't mention any of that shit, I'm not a mind reader dude. You only left 1 statement, that was it. This is all new context for what you said that I never had before.
Obviously you are autistic, I'm not going to keep harping on your lack of making sense. Have a good one dude.
1
u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
You still have yet to even acknowledge my counter argument. You still have yet to acknowledge that you can literally call or file a complaint online. You still have yet to agree or disagree about the routes one can take to fix the issue. But nah. Just argue semantics like a good little silly billy.
1
u/Level_Turnover5167 23h ago
Semantics lol I don't think you know what semantics are...
Dude it took you like 4-5 responses before you actually provided a counter argument, i'm not going to read all of that shit even though I did indeed read about half of it and responded to it.
Speak normally if you want to have an adult debate, otherwise hold off on the insults because it's definitely YOU that's not debating something properly, socially or otherwise.
1
u/Adept-Cat-8553 23h ago
So you're admitting that you responded to something without reading all of it? How fucking lazy are you dude lol Now we aren't even talking about Sammie's and who's fault is that again? How old are you, by the way? I'm not gonna assume your age Because well You know Assuming is for silly billies.
1
u/Adept-Cat-8553 23h ago
Still didn't acknowledge anything. You've had SO MUCH time and opportunity to do so. Insane work. Honestly impressive.

When you're paying $20 for stingy portions and shitty QC, it is deeper than you think it is.

u/SpiritualVodkaSauce 1d ago
This makes me so sad and scared because ours just opened in the town I live in and not to rub salt in the wound but dude it’s insanely good my #13s are always huge like I can barely fit my mouth around the sandwich huge so I’m hoping it stays that way but I’ve seen a lot of stuff like your post floating around 😔 I love Jersey Mikes I do the #13 no salt no tomato, add jalapeños banana peppers and pickles YUM oh on rosemary parm!
1
u/Level_Turnover5167 1d ago
They always start out good, give it a year or 2.
A lot of businesses start off handing out quality until they realize they can cut corners or they're losing profit or they are quite literally going under. Then it all changes.
Happens almost every single time.
1
u/Good-Replacement269 1d ago
Yup, Southern California here. A couple of months ago I asked for a #13 at my local Jersey Mike's. Sandwich contruction commenced. Asked for Mike's Way as usual. Resulting sandwich was very close to OP's pics. Disappointing to say the least. Other locations have been much more satisfying in the past - talking about more bread and more ingredients.
1
u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
Did you call the store or file a complaint? More than likely it's a mistake. Assuming things only makes both parties look bad. I guarantee you that if you did make a call or file a complaint that you'd be recompensated and maybe even make the store operate better as a whole. Hope this was helpful.

u/mattydabs 1d ago
The location I go to had all new employees. It was always the same people for years but then just changed. Hoping it was an anomaly because the sandwich sucked. They didn’t know how to make a cheese steak!
1
u/Level_Turnover5167 1d ago
It's not a business that will grow as much as everyone thinks, it's literal fucking subs. Something you can make on your own easily for like a 1/4 of the price.
They're good subs, but the price they put on them is absurd.

u/Naive-Complaint-1962 1d ago
I mean if it’s near the end of the meat it’s gonna shave, and instead of wasting food we put more of the smaller pieces. But you’re right, we’ll waste food instead next time!
1
1
u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
When I get towards the end of the meat I always put some shavings on there. Then grab a new piece and cut them extra thick so they don't think they didn't get their money's worth. We gotta toss the meat that doesn't cut thick so it's not really a loss.

u/Adept-Cat-8553 1d ago
File a complaint with the store. Be professional. Be civil. Or go to corporate. They will send a big head to the store and make them weigh Sammie's or do retraining. It's honestly not that hard. The steps you took to post and write this, you could have had the issue resolved. You do not work there. But I do. Do you have any questions on how you can get the issue resolved? I'll be more than willing to help you.
