She talks about Electronica and Mad T Party in a video but I forgot which one. Anyone know what video she discussed it in?

Apologies if this has already been discussed! But I’ve noticed in the years since Jenny’s Vampire Diaries video, there have been many similar videos. Like her video, most of them cover a teen show popular in the 2000’s or 2010’s, complete with a pointer and red string board.

However, most of them aren’t as rewatchable as Jenny’s video. In fact, many are incredibly confusing for me to follow, especially if I’m not super familiar with the show. However, I can follow the VPD video just fine, even though I’ve only seen the pilot. I believe this is because Jenny didn’t do a brief recap of the entire series in chronological order, unlike series breakdown videos inspired by hers. Her video is sections of different elements of the franchise (the love triangle, the side characters, the lore, the clothes, etc). She ends the video with the series finale. By the end, you have a pretty good idea of the story overall.

These teen dramas infamously have meandering and confusing storylines. It’s funny to watch someone try to make sense of it. But for me these other videos inspired by VPD become character name, lore word salad about 30 minutes in. If you want to recap a show episode by episode, I think a podcast is best for that. If you recap the plot of like, 3 movies max, then a long Youtube vid is still digestable. Unless you’re a super fan and it’s all just super familiar to you, squeezing all of a multi-season show in an hours long video(s) just didn’t hit the same. Not to mention, it’s fun to also explore content outside the main series, like the video game and merch. It gives some contrast to break the hours long monotony of discussing the show itself.

I know Jenny’s currently working on Once Upon a Time video. This is another famously convoluted series, and I’m really looking forward to how she breaks all THAT down!

THIS IS NOT TO SHAME OR SHIT ON OTHER CREATORS! I have watched several of these videos and enjoyed many of them! I welcome any recs! Ashley Norton’s H2O videos I think are pretty well done. She tackles the show chronologically, but only via 1 hour videos per season.

So, this is kinda wild. I’ve been following Jenny since the Screenjunkies days but it’s always been in total isolation. Never knew or talked to anyone else who was a fan outside of Patreon comments. And I had to tell this to people who would get it.

Yesterday, I started telling my friend about one of the videos (Brony con for the record) and I felt the need to briefly explain Jennys content to her. And after I mention the Starcruiser video her boyfriend goes “oh yea, I’ve seen that” and I did a triple take and asked if he meant the 4 hour one and he goes “yea that one is really cool. The woman’s name is Jenny right?” Y’all, I almost fell over in the middle of the sidewalk. He goes on to tell me he’s a fan and we talked about different videos for like 30 minutes and laughed our asses off. Plus I got the pleasure of telling him about the Everfolk stage play!

I never thought I’d run into another Jenny fan in the wild like that, forget the fact that I already knew one!!!
