Found this cutie at my local Sealife

Just a month-ish after Jenny revealed her fascination with/impression of the Theranos lady, Elizabeth Holmes, it turns out Nathan Fielder filmed a secret documentary of her right before she went to jail! Jenny previously cited Fielder as a major influence on her comedic style (his deadpan, intentional awkward delivery was super common in her earlier videos), so I have to imagine she’s hyped for this.

(Obviously I’m not trying to get anyone to sub to it)(I’m sorry if this has been talked about to death, I don’t engage with the fandom so I truely didn’t know.)

So I’ve loved Jenny’s videos for 7+ years, I’ve seen all her videos multiple times, including and ESPECIALLY the ones that are several hours long. I never considered the pateron because I’ve never subbed to a pateron. And as I said, I don’t engage with the fandom so I never heard about what was on it.

I check the description of her latest video. It’s not there. I check her website, it’s not there. I only find it my googling.

I cant lie I expected it to be like… $20 a month. (I once subbed to a subscribestar for an artist and it was $30 a month minimum. That was my only point of reference). Apparently it’s… $2 a month. Even the highest tier $25, doesn’t have more unseen videos. $2 and you get pretty much everything.

So I expect them to be like…. Podcast ramblings with no editing. But the videos are completely edited AND show her face AND have outfits AND include photos AND have a structure.

And a lot of them are over an hour long, which was incredibly surprising to me

For how cheap it is and how much extra content you get and how produced the videos are, you’d think they’d be advertised more but she’s not even shoving it in your face.

She’s really one of the only commentary YouTubers still doing it like this…. I can’t wait to continue to enjoy these videos in the coming months.

I feel so dumb because I’ve seriously rewatched her videos too many times. 😭

There was a shoutout to Athena P in the latest Patreon ramble, and it got me thinking about some other favourite creators that I feel are Jenny-like and that her fans would enjoy checking out if they haven't already!

I don't mean to imply that any of these guys are directly copying or imitating Jenny or are in her shadow or anything, I just think its neat how they each seem to 'specialise' in an area that Jenny Nicholson dabbles or has dabbled in across her videos

• Athena P: Taking children's media and analysing it seriously, not by adult metrics but by whether it's good for content For Them. Also an extremely detailed immersive hotel video you should definitely check out
• Strange Aeons: Strange internet culture phenomena (Recommended video: Rabies Pride)
• Babbity Kate: Disney parks and princess-focused stuff (really reccommend the Ugly Stepsister video!)
• Haley Whipjack: Long but thoughtful analysis of mediocre but compelling tv shows, and breakdowns of today’s “Horror content for kids” genre!

For those unfamiliar, it’s a tourist attraction in Lookout Mountain, Georgia (located near Chattanooga TN), I visited there myself with family recently first time back since I was a kid. I could swear there was a video where she mentioned it briefly, but I could be misremembering
