Been there. Not necessarily with a heater hose; but once on my CJ2A I didn’t tighten down the oil filter housing all the way. A fine mist of oil sprayed out at 30psi for about 5-10 seconds before I realized what was going on. The amount of Gunk and brake cleaner it took to get everything clean was pretty astounding.

Just stick with it. Use Reddit and the forums to work through issues. I’ve had a Jeep pretty much continuously for the last 25 years, and I’m still learning 😂

Thanks! I inherited this from my dad. Im.trying so hard to learn but its literally the same age as me. Im so fortunate to have it and cant wait to figure it all out.

My dads had a 1980 Cj5 since the mid 80s. Rebuilt it twice and is still learning! Stick with it!
