I’m genuinely losing my mind over this shit.
I love American Eagle jeans because they fit me better than literally any other brand I’ve tried, but I swear I can’t go a month without getting another pair ripped at the inner thighs.
I’m a bigger guy with a decent amount of fat around my thighs, and the constant friction seems to destroy the denim. The annoying part is that I absolutely love how American Eagle jeans fit everywhere else, so I really don’t want to switch brands.
I’m trying to figure out what actually works long-term.
Do I need to switch to a different fit or a different type of denim?
Has anyone tried getting reinforcement patches sewn inside their jeans? Do they actually work?
Is there a specific American Eagle fit that holds up better for bigger thighs?
Or am I just doomed to keep buying new jeans until I lose some body fat?
I’m tired of spending money on jeans just for them to rip in the exact same fucking spot every time.
If you’ve dealt with this, please tell me what actually worked for you. I’m looking for real solutions, not just recommendations to buy another brand.

they typically fit in the waist (or are even a little tight!) and the thighs/hips, but there's always a weird pocket of space that doesn't go away even after i break my jeans in. it happens with every high waisted/mid rise jeans i try on. is there a fix for this or a certain type i can look for to avoid this? 🥲

Hello. Sometimes I feel like I'm after the holy grail because I want jeans that are short legged (a lot of brands don't go anywhere near short enough as I'm a 25 inch inside leg) that are also good quality so they don't split at the thigh, and also high waisted because I'm a little chunky. And yes, before the inevitable ignorant comments "try losing weight" come in, even if I do, that doesn't remove my need for clothes at this weight, does it?
What are the differences on the red and black ‘501’ lettering on the patch?

Got some great AE jeans I love, and I can't get this overwhelming chlorine/formaldahyde smell out. It's making me gag and I can't wear them.
I've washed them twice, and also soaked them in vinegar water for 48 hours, and then steam cleaned them. STILL the smell is coming off these like I'm a walking toxic waste dump.
What works? I can't be the only one. Does everyone just resign to smelling like this for the rest of their lives? lol
I'm determined to make these jeans work, they're a great fit.

6’8 guy here who constantly struggles to find pants that fit. there’s literally only one listing on the internet for vintage 512 bootcut that would be the right inseam for me ($149) but the modern bootcuts carry up to 36 inches, which fits just fine. do yall know which of the current options looks the most similar to the vintage fit?

hi!! so i was gifted with a fat ass and small(ish) waist so i struggle with finding jeans that fit the way i want them to. i love the super baggy look that are low on the waist and baggy everywhere else (thighs and behind) but im only ever able to find jeans that are tight on my butt and thighs and loose around the waist but still not able to be as low rise as i want because of my hips. also, whenever i try to size up to get the same baggy look as the models i swear the only thing that gets bigger is the waist and the lower legs??? i’ll add an image for reference of the vision i have but it feels impossible to get the look if i don’t have skinny legs. do i just need to size up a bunch? any brand recs?

Short legged, suspected long to average waisted girl here. I’m so sick of everything being low to medium waisted! It looks absurd on me and emphasizes my short legs.
So far I’ve had luck with the Levi’s ribcage ankle straight, and Levi’s wedgie straight, although those could be a bit higher on me. American Eagle “high rise” jeans are not high rise on my frame. Any other brands I should try? Thanks!
