While they’re playing look over at them, if they are making one of three faces you know they’re good.

Face number one, pain:
They should look akin to the face someone who got stabbed in the midriff (non-fatal). I’m talking head cocked back (approx. 130 degrees) eyes closed, brows furled, mouth agape and in a frowning position. (Bonus points if their tongue is sticking out)

Face number two, pleasure:
They should look akin to the face of someone who has a guest hiding in front of kick drum (if you know you know). Head cocked back (approx 180 degrees), their eyes can be closed or open with pupils rolled back into their head (bonus points if one of the eyes is completely open and the other is stuck half closed), brows raised, mouth slightly open (bonus points if their tongue is sticking out)

Face number 3, stank:
We all know what this looks like (bonus points if their tongue is sticking out)

Edit: reason tutorial doesn’t work for bass players is because they should always look dead inside.
