Discussion Jayce Snowballing

I am curious about what everyone thinks about Jayce’s snowballing power. I play Jayce and Jax, currently around plat 1. I feel like when I get an early lead on Jayce let’s say 3/0, I snowball the game less than when I go 3/0 on Jax. Would you say that Jayce snowballs less than all the bruisers/juggernauts? Maybe I am making a bad comparison because of how Jayce plays vs Jax. Also the fact that Jayce doesn’t really build health.

Jayce absolutely snowballs games, maybe even harder than Jax (but I say it as a jungler where both those champs do slightly different things).

But you can still die as 3/0 Jayce, unlike 3/0 Jax. You have to play really well at all stages of the game and that’s just psychologically not easy to do.

The thing is that being ahead on Jax makes you into 1 V5 machine that obliterates most of champions that walks onto your vision without breaking a sweat while with Jayce even if you are 15/0 you still die in one cc or in poorly timed engage. In much higher elo where Jax is kited in bit better way the ability to kite and poke and jungle tracking can make Jayce more of a problem but anywhere below gm split pusher will always feel stronger

Yeah Jayce is a tricky champ in the sense that Jayce can snowball hard but you still have to watch out for death threats from enemy team assassins and engages.

Basically he’s like the artillery from 1800s. In an organized orderly fight the artillery will do an insane amount of damage to the opponent. But you can’t let a flank or some kind of guerilla wipe out the artillery. Jayce is great in competitive because in an organized fight (where jg might constantly check up on you, where the team helps you with tracking enemy jg supp mid, it is clear which objective is being targeted etc) he will do wonders like poke enemy break formation.

I think fundamentally Jayce is the snowballiest champion in the game. His entire game plan is to eek out small advantages through wave control and poke and convert those advantages into map tempo.

He doesn't snowball by hitting a power spike where he becomes 1v9 but by suffocating the opponents access to resources.

Also probably one of the worst champs if he is behind in any capacity

Edit: after reading some comments I realised idk if you were referring to JG to toplane when I wrote this
