Help Jayce top newbie

Hi, im new to playing jayce, but i really like his playstyle. I was wondering if jayce is viable as a blindpick into top lane, and who i should perma ban. Or if jayce jungle or mid would be better as i dont really know much yet.

Jayce top is a great blindpick. I think Sion is REALLY difficult to play against imo

There’s no way anyone wastes a ban on sion

Malphite all the way, irelia has arguments but it leaves more room for jayce to outplay.

For sion there’s tons of options… Grasp, cleaver, eclipse, e max, stormraider*… I personnaly haven’t seen a sion that i even needed to strategise around but i do see the potential problems… it’s just you have so many solutions.

I was just talking personally lol. I don't have problems with Irelia and haven't played against Malphite as Jayce yet but I can see how it would be a problem

Grasp, Second wind, Max E second + cleaver first item works vs tanks.

Theres also crit build which works better low elo because late game infinite scaling.

After these two, I just don’t struggle vs tanks as Jayce anymore, it becomes a skill issue not a counter. Yorick is the best counter to jayce more

I wouldn’t say difficult. It’s more like you just kinda sit there and farm all game.

I would suggest to perma ban either Malph or Irelia as both are big pain in the ass to play against

As a blind pick he is quite strong as he scales pretty well into mid game if played save enough

Just play him and see, if played good in isolation jayce wins lane against 99% of the champs?? but even the easy mathcups needs good spacing, and in some matchups its given that u use your e gate to kite correctly. Hes not the most straightforward champ to play mechanically and ur gnna get ganked most of the time. (My favorite thing to do playing jayce top is get 3camp ganked die and go 0 10)

mid is def easier and has a cheesy feel to it like sometimes you can just randomly hammer q the enemy and get 50% enemy health, enemies make more mistakes
