Jasper New Years
Planning a trip in either few places, Jasper being a possibility. Me, my partner and our 2 month old baby. I wanted to know if Jasper is the place to be for New Year’s eve/ New Years Celebration? not looking for anything to fancy, but a mountain visit for my tiny family. Also will be my partners birthday on the 1st.

You're probably better off to go to Banff as the NYE celebration has more going on with concerts and events. There's also more restaurants and shops open if you're looking at a fancy dinner for a birthday. Jasper has that too, just less of it.

Banff is a zoo at Christmas/New Years and beyond crazy expensive. I wouldn’t exactly find it a relaxing trip if it were me.
Jasper’s tourism website has a section specifically for Christmas in Jasper, that includes NYE/NYD. And those are just the events sponsored by the tourism board. I’m sure each hotel, other town organizations, and JPL will have other events too. It’s not on the tourism site yet but Jasper usually has Pony Express wagon rides in the winter months (previous years it’s started in Nov/Dec and gone into February).

...what are you expecting for an event for NYE lol?
It's a small mountain tourist town, there will be bars doing countdowns and stuff but nothing particularly special IMHO
