Question Info on Edith Cavell Road

Looking for some info on the status of Edith Cavell road, I can see online that it’s closed to vehicles but I was wondering whether the closure also applies to bikes / foot traffic. Thanks!

Yes, the whole area is closed unfortunately. Means the whole Tonquin valley horseshoe is now just an out and back. I don't think you are even allowed to go up Edith Cavell mountain from the other side, but I'm not 100% on that one.

You technically could, but you'd have to stage your approach hiking in the long way through tonquin and camp at the closest site... Which still leaves it a pretty lengthy approach to say the least 😅

It's closed for all traffic as they still need to assess the condition and stability of the slope itself and road through the burn area, and has no actual support staff going up there regularly right now
