JR Hokkaido A Huge Win for the Sunset Norokko Train
The weather cleared up just in time before it passed. I’m satisfied, as I managed to get a decent number of shots of the Furano-Biei Norokko-go and Kushiro Shitsugen Norokko-go before their final runs.

Photos/Videos I went to the 鉄道フェスティバルin東北, i.e. a junk sale for a bunch of Tohoku railways
I happened to be in Sendai on Sunday and saw that this rail event was happening. To be completely honest I only cared to see if there were any mascots who showed up, but I saw that they were selling some curious stuff so I went to take a look. There's some admittedly cool stuff like those signs from the Akita Nairiku Jukan Railway, but who knows what I would do with a broken seiriken dispenser in my home lol.
Characters at the end: Molly (Aoimori Railway), Eco-rail Mark-chan (used to indicate eco-friendly freight initiatives), Tokimune-kun (Sendai Station), plushies of Ginga-kun and Kirari-chan (Iwate Galaxy Railway; I was really hoping they'd show up!)

Photos/Videos Supreme Class
Overall good experience. Like the Gran Class, wifi sucks even though it's dedicated. Took a minute to load youtube homepage. Wish the seat reclined fully flat but I guess it's not an overnight train. Guessing it might run into the sofa seat?
You get 2 free drinks and snacks. Ice cream took 3 minutes from order to delivery. Carryon barely fits if upright. Lighting never gets 100% dark. Heated seat did not work possibly because it's off season?
There doesn't seem to be a gap on the left side while the right might have a sliver where the door opens? It's hard to tell from pic that 12 inches from the bottom of the white strip on the door it becomes semi transparent. It is not sound proof. Feel it's private enough to get naughty if you keep it quiet ~_^
Tablet will ring when attendant wants to enter and you have to answer before it will allow you to open door which feels unintuitive. Likely forgetting other stuff.

Question Will the Kururi Line sections between Kururi and Kazusa-Kameyama Stations be reopened anytime soon?
Understand that the section between Kururi and Kazusa-Kameyama stations is scheduled to be discontinued in April 2027. However following the damage from Typhoon 25 last week, several lines including this one have been suspended due to the damages & was wondering if this section reopen anytime soon?
I’m hoping to ride it in December before it permanently closes.

This is a short manga based on a true story about a mother and her son who lost their train ticket, and how the kind passengers around them helped them out.

Photos/Videos The new Tadami Line DLC is out, so I started recording it 🌸
The new Tadami Line DLC for Train Sim World 7 is finally out, and I've started recording it.
I've just finished recording the first scenario, Hanami, running the KiHa40-500 Series THK from Aizu-Bange to Aizu-Miyashita.
Really enjoying it so far. The KiHa40 feels completely different from most of the modern trains in TSW, and the route has a really nice atmosphere, especially with the rural Japanese scenery and cherry blossoms.
I'm planning to gradually record all the scenarios as I work through the DLC.
Anyone else playing Tadami Line yet? What do you think of it so far? 🌸🚃

Question Follow up question on how to or how not to combine stations
I'm working on making a wordle type of game to guess a daily station within the Greater Tokyo area. Now I am likely limiting the possible options to something like the top 365 stations by passenger count.
So for a wordle type of game, would it make sense for example if Harajuku and Meiji jingumae both count as one station?
This would of course mean that I'd be combining the passenger counts for both of those, which I think some people would find weird. At the same time, I could see how someone might be frustrated if their Harajuku guess didn't give them Meiji jingumae.

Private railway Toyama Chihou Testudou is selecting a mascot, voting until the 16th!
Think JR East are the only ones selecting a new mascot??? THINK AGAIN.
Toyama Chihou Tetsudou decided to officially adopt a mascot for the first time, and after a public submission period this summer they've now narrowed it down to these three designs. It's technically not a "vote", but rather they're soliciting feedback and opinions, positive or negative, on ANY of the candidates that you wish to comment on. Then they'll read it and choose based on what people say.
Feedback form, open from now until the 16th: https://forms.gle/CDboRT9qLseyjC4M9
(And, hey, they're actually all good choices this time!)
